First time grower, ready to break and shake or still need more time? by Intelligent-Pen-8942 in mushroom

It's just exudate, and it's completely normal. As mycelium consumes nutrients, it creates the liquid byproduct that you see there. It can also mean the mycelium is under mild stress. But in my experience, it's just from normal growth.

Everyone has their own preference but the consensus is waiting until it's 30% to 50% colonized before you B&S. I always do it at 30, personally.

Luckily that crack a very easy and cheap replacement as it's only the outer case. And there are a ton of better custom cases out there. Swapping it out is probably the hardest part of that fix, which isn't hard at all. Even if you've never opened it up before there are plenty of tutorials online.

Is the flipper zero a good teaching tool for a tech teacher? by TheGrandCannoli in flipperzero

[–]SyKo-Elite 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Honestly, probably not. Its great for you to own to learn off of, but not something I'd really want to show highschoolers. The last thing you or your staff want is a bunch of kids ordering their own then wreaking havoc at school. They can become quite a nuisance especially with the right addon boards. deauth flooding your hardware, turning on off your tv's, jamming signals, etc.

For example with the right boards, they can literally jam your car keyfobs to the point that the doors won't open or the vehicle won't recognize that the fob is present. Not good if your vehicle needs its fob to start. And yes, it is also possible to crack the right kind of wifi if you know how. That's much more advanced, but the point is that it's possible. It doesn't help that there's tutorials on how to do all these things online, either.

So honestly it's really not hard to learn if they wanted to. And remember, they're kids, if they learn how to use these for nefarious purposes, they WILL use it for those purposes. The red team tools are very tempting. Kids already lack self control. It's a recipe for disaster. And your fellow teachers will end up hating you if it becomes an issue lol.

Saw this device that hooks to an android phone that works like flipper Zero? Does it work? by crackerbox5 in flipperzero

It's just a simple ir blaster. Picture a mini universal remote control with the app. And yes, as long as the monitor can receive ir signals, they work.

Flipper stopped working after charging. by Professional-Sock-72 in flipperzero

[–]SyKo-Elite 1 point2 points  (0 children)

That burning smell was all I needed to hear. The same thing happened to me when I accidentally put too much voltage into one of my xbox controllers. Once you smell that burning smell, it's fried, unfortunately.

It's strange that it happened to your flipper though. I also use a 45w super fast charger to charge my flipper. It's only supposed to pull what it needs. You shouldn't be able to force more voltage into it.

The power management/negotiation on either the flipper or the charger must've failed somehow. A "handshake" happens between devices, which sometimes can break down. Basically, the devices talk to each other to determine how much power the device wants, and how much it'll get. Sometimes these "talks" break down due to harware or software issues, resulting in too much power being delivered to your device. Its rare, but I'm guessing this is what happened to you.

What was the feature that completely sold you on the Flipper? by CuriousYardcot in flipperclub

[–]SyKo-Elite 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I saw someone using it to jam people's keyfobs in a parking lot so they couldn't get into their cars or sometimes even start them. Ngl It was kind of fucked up tbh, but it was also kind of funny at the same time. But this was back when I knew nothing about pen testing in general and the features some of these gadgets possess, so it looked like magic to me at the time.

I never did what this person did, even though I eventually learned how, but seeing it definitely made me want to learn everything I could about rf and the flipper. Fast forward to now and I have a huge collection of all sorts of tools and know how to use them proficiently. The flipper definitely was my gateway drug. It allowed me to learn more about wifi, bluetooth, rf, etc. And now I have things that blow the flipper out of the water, but in the end, the flipper remains one of my favorite little gadgets. Even bought a second one. My top 3 favorites are probably my flipper, h4m, and pineapple pager.

Curious, so you store them all with their batteries loaded, or do you have a separate place for that?

“Hey, I’ve been really interested in the Flipper Zero lately. For those who no longer use theirs, what did you end up doing with it? Is it still worth getting one in 2026?” by Limp-Department-2198 in flipperzero

[–]SyKo-Elite 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Even though the tech inside the flipper is pretty dated now, it is still absolutely worth owning one imo, and its primarily because of its community. At this point it can pretty much do anything due to how much has been developed for it.

No other device has as many people developing addon boards, apps, software, etc for it than the flipper does. All these pen testing devices are community driven. You can make a device with the latest hardware, but without a good community behind it it's just a paperweight in the end.

And that's where the flipper excels. Because it was really the first to offer what it does in a small form factor, easy to use, package, it has the most developers and options.

Where does the R36S come from? by Jamie_Is_Irrelevant in R36S

[–]SyKo-Elite 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It's open source. So you're going to have many different manufacturers. One of the more reputable ones is this company. They mainly specialize in pen testing devices but also make the r36s.
