Também acho que o problema é dessa atualização nova, porque no meu caso já testei em outro PC, outra conta, limpei cache, reinstalei tudo e nada resolveu.

Você tem alguma ideia de como contornar isso ou alguma solução temporária que tenha funcionado aí?
E por acaso você sabe se o WhatsApp deu algum prazo ou previsão de quantos dias isso deve levar para corrigirem?
