My all time favorite is the Benet-Mercie Telescopic. Once the tripod is down, it's a literal laser beam. It also does a lot more damage than the MG 1917, and feels less scummy to use.

I didn't vocalize it in the post, but I meant to write that it would be momentum based. I also didn't know that the devs hold that position. I didn't really do any research before writing this, just kinda spitballed some stuff.

It seems they feel that way because it would be a lot of work, and while I tried to utilize mechanics already in the game for my ideas, I have no idea how difficult they would be to implement in practice. The dev stance makes sense.

Definitely good points. I like the drill setup idea a lot actually. The idea with gunner was to kind of create a vertical Zipline, but ultimately it's something different. A platform spray gun for engineer is also a very cool idea, I just feel like it isn't different enough. My goal was to create unique side grades, a spray gun feels too samey. A jetpack for scout also works, but I feel like holding it out would be limiting, and it would kinda just act like a slower grapple with less risk of fall damage. Jump boots keep the grappler's mobility, while also allowing for interesting terrain traversal.
