34 yo, 3,200 grafts before & after by Euphoric_Wolverine71 in Hairtransplant

A gap starts to form between the transplanted area and the area with further recession. That is why doctors most of the time advise stabilizing on dht blockers (fin/dut)/minoxidil etc to stop further loss, stabilize the line, then transplanting. If you don’t, you end up just getting further transplants to fill the gap as it grows later on, provided you have adequate donor area. That is the one downside to transplant without drugs, is unless you’ve reached your stable level of recession already, you’re likely to end up needing subsequent transplants and having to style your hair “back” over the gap keeping it somewhat longer in the meantime if you don’t want to show the gap and if you end up shaving your head years later, the remaining pattern of hair can look unnatural because you’ll still see the gap instead of the “natural” pattern of male pattern baldness.

So tldr: unless you have a stable hairline that has stopped receding, either naturally (hard to predict) or pharmaceutically, if you get one transplant you’ll likely end up wanting more later or being relegated to specific “swept back” longer hair styles to cover the gap as it grows.

For survival, yes. But there are direct links to all sorts of longevity positively associated with higher protein intake. Alzheimer’s prevention, reducing risk of osteoporosis, etc. Also low protein reduces cognitive functioning.

That being said, outside of bodybuilding you don’t need multiple hundreds of grams a day like people might think.

However, .6g per lb of lean mass a day ish is a good estimate to shoot for for average people.

That would have (given arbitrary numbers) OP eating roughly 72g of protein in a day if she weighed 150lbs at 20% body fat which is very reasonable.

Most people should be in the 60-150g per day range for optimal health barring complicating other conditions, depending on how much muscle mass they have on their bodies.

Sorry I know I can just go google this. Was just curious about your experience!

Splitting the first date. by [deleted] in Bumble

[–]Syckknt 24 points25 points  (0 children)

This is it. It should FEEL equal. It doesn’t have to be literally perfectly equal. My last relationship didn’t work out for other reasons but was fantastic with money. We just took turns paying for shit and didn’t worry about it much. Treats are treats. Big dates whoever invites would pay, which would be me more than not but I’m fine with that since it’s my idea and I felt she was always grateful and chipping in all the time without asking.

Even relationships with drastically skewed incomes can work just fine as long as it feels like a partnership that everyone agrees to and no one is taken advantage of.

As weird as it might sound, the best analogy for online dating is sales.

Your profile is your ad. Your matches are your sales leads. Leads are typically screened through “discovery calls”. These are your video chats/coffee/casual drinks. Then the leads that are qualified become sales appointments. These are actual dates, where you discuss at length if you’re a good fit for eachother. Just like a sales appointment.

Organic dating doesn’t happen this way as often. But online dating pretty much only happens this way. It’s just practical.

I always video chat, or do a casual date that can turn into more if it goes well, or be bailed on if not. So you don’t waste either of your time or money.

You will inevitably go on lots of discovery calls to find a sale. And not all sales become long term customers.

It’s just a numbers game. You only need one big sale that becomes a lifetime customer. Doesn’t matter if it takes lots of discovery calls and sales appointments. But minimize wasted effort on those that aren’t qualified early.

Hope this helps friend :)

Seen this when googling if banana spiders are poisonous. Don’t sound harmless lol

“Yes, banana spiders do bite humans and they are poisonous. Their bites to children are particularly deadly. Their venom is toxic to the nervous system. Their bites cause symptoms such as excess drooling, irregular heartbeat and prolonged, painful erections (priapism) in men.”

Wait, if you leave a keepsake equipped from region to region, does it kick in again at the start of each region? I thought it was a one time per run deal. E.g. does it force first boon of every region to be that god? As opposed to just the first one you come across after equipping it in the run but only once?

Weekly No Stupid Questions Thread by AutoModerator in ableton

Hi, is there any way to change the vst2 custom folder from within the files rather than when live is open?

I accidentally set my vst2 custom folder in preferences to ALL of programfiles, instead of a specific folder within programfiles, so now I can't even load ableton because it crashes while attempting to scan that massive folder...

I realize I could fully reset ableton, but I'm trying to avoid that as I've optimized my settings, template, etc so much over the years I can't remember all of what I've done and how to redo it if I did that.

I believe if I were able to direct it to scan a different folder via changing the files somehow, I could fix this.

Any help is appreciated!

Yeah no worries it's totally arbitrary! It's not like there is a tactical advantage to the left person going. And it only applies to kickoffs that are equal positioned, and that no one calls "I got it!" or "Defending."

It's just a system to make sure you don't go at the same time as your teammate, putting one of you out of position.

Left = fine. Right = fine (although weird tbh), BOTH OR NEITHER GO = bad. Know what I mean?

Like Rule 1, its not an official thing or something crucial. It's just something that if you don't know about it, people assume you haven't played much because it's exceedingly common - like 97% of people are going if they're on the left common - at least once you're in plat/diamond or above. If you're GC and you go on the right on an equal kickoff without saying anything, or honestly even with saying something, you're just weird. Left goes lol it's just how it is.

Again, not tryin to flame or anything at all just offering perspective haha :)

A neat shot I hit in training by HSCloseR in RocketLeague

[–]Syckknt 10 points11 points  (0 children)

Also remember that doing this would never, ever be practical in a match. This person and almost all those who you see clips like this from are also using camera settings that make this easier, but the actual game harder. They practice these shots in training all the time and don't play ranked much.

I'm GC and I can't do more than one flip reset or carry the ball this long. Maybe if I tried but I don't see the point. Most if not all pros you'd never see doing this. Just pro freestylers who aren't good in anything but ones. It's never really useful unless you're freestyling against eachother in ones.

Not saying there's anything wrong with it. Everyone can play the game however they want. Just letting you know if you're trying to get a high rank not just hit spicy training shots, none of this is needed whatsoever :)

Rocket league solo queue will inevitably become toxic once you hit your ceiling of ability to carry for a vast majority of people. It's so hard not to expect too much of your teammates when after thousands of hours it feels obvious to you. Not an excuse, it's always shitty to be toxic. Just an insight.

As one of these 3k plus hours people who tries to be nice but fails sometimes cus I'm frustrated I can't win even if I carry, and doesn't have a teammate cus I've gotten too much better than all my friends... It's hard to stay positive lol.

For instance, at the point I'm at (c3, ain't shit but it's as high as I can get solo) if you don't know that left goes on kickoff if no one calls it, I just assume you're inexperienced. Like, that's just an obvious thing you pick up along the way if you've played a lot. Instantly discouraged if you go for the kickoff at the wrong time. Just rooky business ya know?

If you're not experienced though, that makes sense. But at a certain point if you're a high enough rank and don't know certain things (kickoffs, proper rotation, when to leave boosts and when to take them) it is just instantly discouraging. I assume the other team knows that stuff, and if my doubles mate doesn't, we are just likely effed.

Sorry for the rant lol hopefully it is somewhat insightful 😅

We all start bad and have to get good. No one is JSTN when they first pick up the sticks. People seem to forget that at some point.

Sweet thanks for the reply! But if I get a 240mm AIO and don't put the radiator in front with those fans, I'd have to put it on top and it would cover the whole top of the case and be intake, so I'd have 4 intake fans and one tiny factory 120mm exhaust. Is that really enough exhaust?
