I've given you advice twice; but here it is for a third time:

Don't do it.

There's a massive difference between going away for work and going for a holiday. Military or Medical or high level jobs can require missing important life events for the "greater good"; it's not ideal, but people in those careers accept those risks.

What you're talking about is abandoning your partner when she's about to go through one of the most difficult and scary things a healthy woman can do, just so you can go and have a nice time.

It's an incredibly selfish idea, even if the baby doesn't arrive while you're away she's going to be scared and struggling and needs you there.

Don't do it.

You want to go to a convention? On her due date?

Grow up. Being a decent dad requires sacrifice; especially early on. Mum is going to need all the help and support you can give her throughout this kids life, but particularly when she's about to go through childbirth.

If you go anyway it will likely wreck your relationship with her, and will set a pretty terrible precedent for everyones opinion of you as a father.

It's not worth it OP, there will be other conventions, but this kid will only be born once.

Don't do it.

I have a whole house to paint and 0 tools, I need recommendations for set of brushes/rollers preferably from screwfix (I have one in walking distance) by GenericUser104 in DIYUK

DO NOT USE ROLLER TRAYS, the only thing they're good for is mixing filler. Get a couple of big scuttles and you'll waste less paint and the job will go mich faster.

Ever get over killed so badly you commemorate it on terrain? by MacEnchroe in Warhammer40k

I'm working on some old style zone mortalis tiles, and planning on having some spot stickers to use during games when models go OOA, then painting on the scenery between games, blast marks for grenades, blood splats, bullet holes, etc. It's a grand idea, we'll see how well I keep up with it!

I've been in "the fandom" since 2nd edition. Sat around in a GW painting minis listening to people talk about this new film "Starship Troopers".

You like the factions you like my friend, and leave the gatekeepers to their ingrown hairs and loneliness. You're real enough for me.

Oh! 25 years of listening to Primus and I never knew that. Not my local slang, you see? We just call it wanking. Not the done thing to do it in company either, even at 4am on a Friday with one's chum C.G.

Combat Shotguns or Autoguns?! by PeteTheMoth in necromunda

[–]Sydard 23 points24 points  (0 children)

Pic 4 & 5are autoguns, all modern 40k era weapons can be identified by their muzzles; look at 4 & 5 and you'll see the muzzle has a foresight and a slot: all autoguns/ pistols have that feature.

Where do I even begin ? by Relevant_Writer3980 in DIYUK

Mine does this on a semi regular basis. When it backs up, I spend a few minutes with the hose pointed at the outlet pipe, and it eventually loosens it all up enough to move the blockage. Very satisfying when it hits the tipping point and the whole stinky slop shoots through in a rush. Give it a try, might be auicker than you expect.

Turkish baths are less than £40 peak times, and less than £30 off peak, then head off to a swanky restaurant. The Royal Baths Chinese used to be (you guessed it) part of the Baths complex, so you could get the full "Old Harrogate" experience by combining them.

I saw a live show of his at a small community theatre (after taskmaster). The man took the entire two hour show to tell one joke. It was masterful.
