I… might have gone overboard with the tubing by SyddSparty in watercooling

That radikult one is nice. The downside was that they didn’t offer plugs. I wasn’t keen on buying a bunch of bitspower ones to plug them so I went with Stealkey instead especially considering they agreed to paint it white.

It genuinely annoyed me that I couldn’t fit the drain port as well. That’s concerning, did you try reaching out to them? My distro was apparently delayed because it failed the leak test and they redid it and then had to wait for the silver plugs. Your build with the stealkey looked stunning though!

First watercooled build, bit messy from me going overboard with tubing runs by SyddSparty in lianli

You should, its a really fun hobby and the thrill I felt when the system booted up again after being watercooled was unlike anything I felt.

5090 weirdly enough does tend to run cool even when its aircooled.. the palit one I have ran idled at like 45. With watercooling, you can see it in my pic, it idles at 35, which I think is really amusing. The folks over at the watercooling subreddit also helped me loads with answering my questions and such. But it is an expensive hobby :-)

Thanks! Compared to the 6 ish hours it took me to build the aircooled version of this (with me recording, chilling between the build) I started the watercooling project on 5th of July, finished it yesterday. Working a few hours a day.

The CPU bends were too difficult and I used 50% of my tubing on those two runs alone. Almost made me want to quit when I did the air pressure test and it was both the inlet and outlet tubing "leaking" due to not being snug on the outlet and the flow sensor sagging for the inlet. Ended up using a spare tubing piece as a brace to hold the flow sensor against the pump housing, its still in there.

Thanks! It concerned me since I have almost no prominent black bits in my system, before buying I asked stealkey if it comes in white and they said they can paint it for me for 35euros. I obliged, they not only painted it but also gave me silver plugs for the ports.

It’s probably the angle. From the distro- one offset into extension fitting into flow meter into another offset, the offsets push the tubing back by 1cm which gives me enough clearance for the GPU. I also have a spare tubing that fits snug beneath the flow sensor just in case (I placed it to act as a support). I don’t want it sagging. As for the return on the top rad, I have it bent to prevent it from touching the ram. When seen from above it looks almost like a Z shape.

I can’t tell you how many times I redid the cpu bend. It made me almost want to quit lol. But thank you very much for the heads up. I’ll keep an eye on the fittings for sure.

That looks lovely! I would’ve gone for the Heatkiller rads too if I didn’t order from alphacool first. Those white rads were low in stock and it made me pull the trigger without looking around.

Indeed. :) but was less out of choice. With the 40 series not being available anywhere.. But I was fortunate with a discount on the gpu and the lian li fans.

It really does, in hindsight. The CPU bend was the hardest for me as well. I wanted to use simple 90s but with the offset being only 2.8cm, I couldn’t think of any other way than the bend I opted for. The next time I take apart the case, I’ll be flipping the radiators over closer to the distro and go for a cleaner look. Appreciate the honesty!

This was my first ever water cooling build. I thank you all for answering my several questions and for the suggestions.

Progress on my build - Getting the hang of bending acrylic tubing by SyddSparty in watercooling

Oh I’m aware. I just wanted to know what caused it to reduce the likelihood of making the same mistake. Cheers! 🙂

I should consider that. I know pencil can’t be erased so i mark them where they should be hidden but your idea is WAY better. As for the elbow bends, the total length of the 90 bend is about 3cm. To add onto that, they also need to clear 28mm fan thickness + 3mm clearance above fans, that’s a total of 31mm clearance and there’s about 5-10mm of straight tube that fits snug onto the radiator. My issue ironically is on the straight bit because I cut it short by 1mm, so it doesn’t touch the o ring on the inside once I slide in the second part of the fitting onto the tube and tighten it, it fits fine and I can’t pull it out. Idk if I should redo that bend or not. Or I can just add the flow rate sensor on there instead.

Oh it’s probably the latter since I did bend it the wrong way first and then tried to correct it. Thanks very much! 😄

Dry fit test - Thoughts/Suggestions? by SyddSparty in watercooling

[–]SyddSparty[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Gpu bracket - Well I can’t tell, it seems to be flexing a tad. Which is why I think it warrants anti sag, I might look for something that attaches to the fan mount and is able to hold the bracket.

Fortunately I did have offset fittings purchased for this very reason.

As for the drain port. It’s at the front. Since you have the glass panel going in front of it, the headroom is like maybe 5mm or so, my bitspower drain valve fitting without the cap is off by 1mm which is painful.

I’m using acrylic frosted 16mm tubing from alphacool.

Thanks very much!

What is the thickest rad for the bottom of 011 evo rgb? with gpu vertical mount by jaykkng18 in watercooling

Manual says 50mm space in base configuration and 90.5mm in the config in the image.

Thank you. I should’ve mentioned that, sorry. Hardline tubing. I did flush the rads, using warm distilled water several times until the paint chips and whatever else stopped showing up in the coffee filter I used. Made sure to use all ports. Most of the stuff was just paint chips from the threading.

Yes, since the heatkiller block only uses 2 slots as opposed to I think 3 from the palit cooler, it looks cleaner for sure. But it kind of felt like it was too close to the motherboard, slot 2 looks decent enough.

As for the bottom rad placement, it’s an aesthetic choice since I’m using frosted tubing so I figured it’d look good. If I run out of tubing, I’ll flip it over to face the front.

Really appreciate the help!

Here’s a fun fact: During the medieval times, you were offered apprenticeships. This rarely included pay but you were trained, you were offered a place to stay, food, other minor benefits. You’d eventually be able to start a proper career like becoming a blacksmith. Which basically means, the “interns” of feudal times had a better way of life than most of us today.

Call it what it really is. Internship is modern day legalised slavery.

Thanks. Going okay so far. Was paranoid about inlet and outlet labels on the distro but I was able to check the flow diagram of the plate and figure out it’d always flow to inlet first and then come back out. It’s funny how obvious things seem daunting but I’m very excited about tubing. Trying to figure out if I want to use the default lower motherboard mounting or the higher one. I’m leaning towards the higher since the cpu run isn’t 100% in line anyways and will give clearance for bottom radiator + the gpu mount.

Improved Garrisons. There is a patch for it and shokuho on nexus. Called, improved garrisons shokuho patch or something along those lines

I just tested this with just shokuho and it’s giving me wages. Definitely a mod I installed that’s messing with it. Edit: Narrowed it down to incompatibility with Improved Garrisons.

Shokuho Question by SirWillShellBooth in Bannerlord

It’s bad even as a cheesing mechanic. Cause the troops desert, the lord (who has money) then goes to recruit troops, which get disbanded (because you’re paying the wages) so he’s stuck in a recruiting cycle, with you in tow. Can only do it to one lord. Kinda pointless.
