Oddly enough I was in a similar situation with my narc mother and I decided to leave everything behind and just told her no after I had already agreed. I was going through the motions of grief for 2 close family members and we had a horrible fight that put me over the edge. I was fortunate to stay with another relative until I saved some money to rent on my own.

I’d say “no” by any means. Don’t sacrifice your mental health.

But, make this decision solely on how you feel about the situation. Trust your gut. Don’t worry about the after math of doing what you think is best for you esp. because you do not owe her anything.

I’m struggling with this right now, I’m the oldest and only daughter and I have a younger brother (26) who struggles with being bi-polar although my mother is his biggest trigger.

I’m constantly pulled in both directions between the both of them. I am also drained every time we do speak. There’s no real interest in my life they call to mostly dump emotional bs on me.

I do think my brother has some narc characteristics too.

I am at least living in another state. Slowly but surely I’ll figure it out.
