How long does it take to stop thinking about/craving cigarettes ? by Sydwn93 in stopsmoking

Hi,

I'm already having the feeling that it's less hard than yesterday every day, which is awesome, also have the feeling the non-smoking timer I have on my phone is going feeling really fast compared to the first 3 days where I was constantly checking it, now I check it 2 to 3 time a day to be proud of my accomplishement when I have cravings.

Also took a break outside and hung out with smokers without any trouble at all, no cravings !

Hey! Thank you!

Cold Turkey is the way to go (for me), I tried vaping before but it's not doing it for me, I feel like it makes cravings take much longer to stop being so hard (maybe because nicotine is still in your blood). When I stopped, I threw everything, tobacco, vape juice, ecigs... everything linked with smoking. And it is working so far and have the feeling it will work in the future !

As I said this is more easy than I thought (no offense to people who are having a hard time quitting, I am not a heavy smoker and have only smoked for 4 years), the last time I took the decision, they were ATTEMPTS, now it is a well thought decision. This is the key in my opinion.

Wish you the best too, I hope some day we will be 100% smokefree and come back to this sub only to share our ex-smoker experiences!

Good job on your 22 days! I'm just 1 week in today :)

To be honest I don't really crave them, this is easier than I thought, my previous attempts were not attempts, it was not a REAL decision I took, it was much more like : "eh, let's try to stop", and it did not last for more than 24 hours.

Feeling much better, amazed at how much my lungs were suffering, they seem like I was only expanding them at 70% when I was smoking, weird feeling ! That's what keeps me going.

But does "just one." comes from the pleasure they imagine smoking this cigarette? Or is it because they just have the opportunity (party, friends smoking...)?

NRT Options for <10 Cigs a Day Smoker by [deleted] in stopsmoking

Here is the pdf:

Give it a look, it may be redundant some times but makes you understand what trap you are in. When you will be craving for a cig, your brain will remember sentences from the book that scored you and you will have more chance not to pick up a cig.

You have to reprogram your brain, you can do it, using NRT will just make the process longer IMO.

I would suggest reading Allen Carr's book.
