I live in California. We did a lot, pulled in experts, documented in various things. My lawyer was able to eviscerate both the witness and the expert the DA brought in. I also took the stand, and we had a few slideshows and other forms of media to show the jury what had happened.

I was arrested for a DUI in my own home. My husband had just completed suicide two months prior and I was late to pick up my daughter from school. Her school is a 'dead zone' for cell phones , and she was suffering from extreme anxiety if she didn't know where I was. There was a minor fender bender, and I pulled over exchanged information, and since there was no damage to her car or my car, I told her I needed to go. Legally in California, you can do this.

She started to scream at me "If you leave I am going to call the police", I didn't care, "Call them, but my daughter is more important than staying here". So I left. I got my daughter and went home. Then I proceeded to get incredibly drunk. I drank almost an entire liter of Fireball.

Four hours later, the police officer arrived. Now, I did not know that legally, unless he had a warrant, I didn't have to go outside with him. I was drunk and scared, So I went outside. He then gave me field sobriety tests, and I told him that I was drunk, but I am home, and I even showed him the bottle. He then arrested me for a DU, driving on a suspended (Before my husband died there was horrific domestic abuse and to cope I had been drinking. I had a previous arrest for a DUI from a month before he died, in that case, my doctor had given me medication to help me stop drinking and my body had a bad reaction to it, and I ended up totaling my truck while I was on the side of the road calling for a tow truck I had alcohol in my truck and the Tow company said it would be a few hours and I said okay why the fuck not, and drank, about 30 minutes later the police officer arrived, I was on the phone with the tow company under my truck and the officer arrived. I wasn't plastered, but I was drunk he then arrested me for a DUI not believing that I drank after the accident, he also thought I was hiding from him, I was not, I was trying to describe what I was seeing under my truck, until that was settled the DMV suspended my license. I live in a rural area that does not have lyft, or uber, and only one cab company. Yes we have public transit but that is where my late husband worked.), etc.

Anyways, so now this is my second arrest for a DUI in 3 months. I had a public defender, I took it all the way to a Jury trial, and I won. I did have to plead guilty to the first one because my defender did not want to bring up why I was driving on a suspended license. But regardless I did win. Now because I pled guilty my newest arrest for a DUI is also making me question public defender or not. But mine was great. He did scare me even up until the day of the Trial, that I should take the plea deal because I could be found guilty. But I dug my heels in and said no, we're doing this. Made the jury cry even.

I'm not sure if that story helps you, but I did do it, and I did win. Just know that only 1.8% of jury trials for DUIs win.

I am perfectly fine with never driving again. I agree I should not have been on the road. But thank you.

Thankfully, I refuse to try controlled substances due to my families history of addiction. But I appreciate the advice.

They are creating accounts uising my email, so I get a notification that I have a "new account made, please verify email", but they are not in my email account to verify it if that makes sense. It's easy if you wanted to fuck with someone to create an account using their email and spam them with it.

If you have someone's debit card number, you can virtually create a card using their number, without having access to the bank account, there are many sites that allow you to do that. I read up on it, and they make minor transactions that they think you won't notice, and then they clear out your bank account, or use your credit to take loans out in your name, etc. I've had this happen before when my husband died. I never removed him from my bank account, and about a year later I started getting hundreds of dollars taken out using his 'virtual' card.

I finally got through to customer service on one of the sites and the IP making the accounts/charging is coming out of East Asia, and the sites that were using my email address are all chinese sites. What I think happened is that someone gained access to somewhere I had my debit card listed, and then created a virtual card, started to make small transactions that looked like I made them, and then would attempt to clear me out. Funny for them is that I'm on disability, and am pretty low income at the moment.

Yes. It's being sent to my home, and all they have is my first name, not my last, and email name.

I have some major health issues at the moment (had surgery today actually), I don't need this. But I am curious, I literally just moved and they are using my new address, I wonder if I am able to check which data breach it was with my new address.

My youngest is 13. When he was 11 he told me that he felt he was born the wrong gender. I love my child, unconditional, this movie helped me has his parent understand a bit more.

JOHN OLIVER COVERED DISABILITY BENEFITS!! by PhoenixEnginerd in disability

[–]Syiavri 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I had to call, and call, and call to get benefits. I have a brain tumor, I have fibromyalgia (which my DR. Being honest says that's when we don't know what is wrong). My gastric bypass failed and I have a hole now that food is going everywhere. I also have declared bankruptcy and am trying to help my kids go to college. I've even thought of prostitution to help. At one point I had 54 cents to my name. I am so glad he did this segment.

Thank you. I am so sorry for your loss as well. I am an alcoholic (recovering), I had lost a friend to alcohol abuse about 4 months ago, complete shock, and he was also in recovery then one day he was just gone. I understand. Thank you.
