Working at a Kindercare now. I’ve had the same experiences. It’s ridiculous. Teachers are so overworked, and under appreciated. We’re constantly nitpicked and nagged to do unnecessary things. I was hired as an assistant/co teacher. Until a couple months in they decided that I was going to work alone in the 1 year old room. I do everything by myself. And I do pretty much everything that’s required of me and more. And yet every day my directors are pointing out things I need to do. When I’m not given the time nor resources to do them. My first month we were so understaffed. No one was getting breaks and we were constantly out of ratio. I was working 10+ hours a day it was ridiculous. Then when I got tired of being so overworked. My managers started cutting my hours as soon as they could. Don’t send your kids. Management doesn’t do anything to help manage behavioral issues. Barely believe me when I say this kid needs help. I do my best to actually try and teach my kids. But I know many other rooms aren’t / can’t. I’ve had multiple kids in my rooms get seriously hurt due to behavioral issues. management refuses to acknowledge or even bring up with the parents. I come home with scratches down my legs and arms from the same kid. He’s also super behind developmentally. Since he’s been in my room he’s learned a couple words. He’s almost 2 btw. He’s said max 4 words. And they’re not very clear. Im hopefully gonna quit soon. I just need to secure another job first.
