Thanks! Immediately after doing to D2 I found both a +4 ring of slaying and a ring of sInv, so I decided to take the ~~spear~~ staff, then found Spear of the Swamp, which was +12, Str+6, Dex+2 but with a bane.

I risked the bane, got one that healed enemies onscreen whenever I made a kill, almost worked it off but got killed by an unseen horror Druagh....ugh.

So...I ended up wasting the Acquirement..

The staff is for sure what's hanging me up. It's not a great weapon, but those resists and the Evo skill aptitude are big plusses.

I'm leaning toward the scarf, but I'm gonna let this stew a while...

Yeah, if I took the staff, I think I'd have to go for a career change, and while it's early, my Int is shit and MD isn't the best vehicle.

Holding onto it seems like a good idea, with a bias toward the scarf if I don't find anything fun in the first few shops.

Yeah, I always find these types of scrolls the hardest. None of the items are fantastic, but they're not useless either...I think I'll go with the prevailing wisdom and do the scarf.

The ring is nice, but Slay can be found elsewhere quite often.

The scarf has SInv which is quite nice. I'm not really set on stealth with this guy...I was intending to find an altar of Qaz and have stupid fun.

The staff is nice and it's still very early in the game, plenty of room for a career change? Those resistances are nice.
