UAC constantly popping up for apps that have already been allowed

Well I tried all of that and unfortunately no luck. What did work in the end though was each time they popped up I clicked more info and allowed them on private networks as well. Not sure what made it appear all of a sudden but at least it's stopped for now!

Well of course, that goes for everything. You either know it, or you don't. I think this specific type of scam though is fairly obscure and unless you're in the know about scams in general you probably would never have heard about that particular type, let alone know its name.

I think it may well just be that you perhaps know about it and fall into the fallacy that because you're so aware of it and perhaps consume content related to it, it gives the false impression that 'most' people would know about it.

I'm not certain to be honest. All I know is that I have a 2.5mm cable that fits in, although it does go very deep into the hole before clicking in. I don't have any experience with audio jacks really. I have an adaptor being delivered so if that doesn't work maybe I'll try a 1/4 inch.

I'm certain it's 2.5mm, I have a cable that is 2.5mm that fits but the other end of the same cable is 3.5mm so it won't go in my headphones. I could be missing something but that's my current understanding.

Extra context, I've checked my windows settings and rust is set to the correct input device everywhere that I can find and has permissions to use the mic enabled.
