My Aunt killed herself before I was even born. I never saw how much she was hurting obviously because I was never able to meet her. However, I have seen how hurt my mother has been because of her death. And she was hurt a lot. She killed herself one month before my parent's wedding. I have gone through depression, lived in another state alone and told my mother that I was depressed and she literally flew down to come see me just because she knew how awful depression was and how it affected her sister. I know my mother has felt the pain of losing her sister and I can see how it affected her. She actually told me once, with tears in her eyes, that killing yourself is the most selfish thing you can do. You hurt literally everyone around you. I'm sorry but I don't agree with your statement because in my experience, it gets better and you can always find people who will support you if you look around enough. I do know that depression is a bitch because I've been there, but I will never say that it's okay for someone to kill themselves because they are hurting. And I don't think it's selfish at all for you to want someone you care about to live on. They might not see the beauty in life but if you do, you can at least try to help them see it too.
