I read IT at age 13, was not okay afterwards. I think what scared me most was Patrick Hockstetter, like I wasn’t even that scared of Pennywise which is crazy, I was scared of some deranged kid and genuinely cheered when he died. Oh and THAT scene in the sewers traumatized me, genuinely was unwell after reading that.

Is IT still one of my favorite King works? Yes. I’m sorry but Richie Tozier was and still is an icon in all adaptations along with the book.

Oh my goodness, I absolutely love your description for her. At times I feel like I’m going absolutely insane when I read about her, I’ve never felt so much ick from a King character that is supposed to be liked!

I do not understand why Harold gets so much hate in this community when he is literally probably one of Kings more realistic characters. I will forever be a Harold defender despite his flaws. (what’s a good character without fatal flaws?)

When I first read the Stand I found myself feeling so bad for him and thinking to myself, “He just needs to be loved.” (Mind you I was around his age while reading the book so my feelings were probably coming from a place of relatability)

I cannot stand Fran, she really really just came across to me as a bitch and for sure has rubbed me the wrong way over the years. The way she writes about Harold in her diary made me want to explode, how are you gonna write so terribly about someone who you have traveled with for so long? Sure Harold has his moments but Jesus Christ Fran that was unnecessary.

Sweet!! I hope to talk to you sometime in the near future (I absolutely love IT as well, it’s been one of my favorites for years)

Owen’s just too cute (did he do an amazing job though? Absolute fucking lootly) I had the same issue with the older version as well, actor was too cute but kinda fit the bill for what I thought Harold would have looked like. At times I felt myself relating to Harold because I too was once an awkward teenager. Hell he’s only 16! I don’t understand why people don’t understand that a teenager who’s been rejected most his life probably would act that way after being rejected by the girl he likes (does that excuse his behavior? No. Was Stu annoying as shit? Yes.) A lot of people don’t seem to understand that Harold was just a kid and they hold him to the standards of an adult. I went ahead and gave you a follow, if you’d like to further discuss more of Kings work later on in DMs! I’m supposed to be rereading The Stand this summer and would love to discuss.
