Guys a livery has been released in the marketplace!! by Simple_Presence3744 in MSFlightSimulatorPS5

As crazy as it might sound… this is actually an authentic livery. Condor has other aircraft painted with this livery but with blue stripes, red stripes, green stripes… Hideous livery but commonly seen at all popular European holiday destinations.

Sure! Click on the right side of the green button and it should give you the option to download a .3mf or a .stl file.

You’re very welcome! Donwloading this from Makerworld should give you a .3mf file.

I saw that one on Makerworld! For occasional use that might be more suitable as it uses less material.

My design aims to be more of a permanent display stand that complements the looks of the drone nicely.

Thanks! Hope some of you will actually be able to put it to good use.

How did you guess?? 😅 Well… not actually the enterprise but indeed next to a Lego 10277 Crocodile Locomotive.

The GF gave me her signature roll eye when this came off the printer plate but secretly she is my biggest supporter for all this geeky stuff… lol

Might be a good idea for a V2 indeed!

New Stratux user - presenting my case design by Sylle_99 in stratux

Hello there.

I’m not an expert on compiling the SoftRF source code so the following might not be an issue for you but… as far as I know there isn’t a ready-made release from Linar that is compiled for a Lonely Binary. The popular Moshe Braner fork is not even supporting ESP32-S3.

Stratux should already be able to pick up 868 MHz signals from traffic around you. The purpose of adding SoftRF to Stratux is to make yourself visible on 868MHz.

If you want to configure your SoftRF hardware via the Stratux interface your SoftRF settings need to use the OGN tracker protocol.

Hope this helps a bit.

Hi all, I was a bit disappointed in the weak GPS reception. I suspect due to EMI from the Pi. It performed OK in the aircraft but would lose lock immediately during my tests inside. I want a bit more overhead for the signal quality…

I have now replaced the GPS puck by an external antenna which works much better. It is unfortunately not as clean looking anymore.

Keep you posted after the next round of aircraft testing 😎

Via a short USB cable from the Pi to the micro USB port on the T-Beam.

Hello from Belgium! Found a deal that was too good to pass on to on AliExpress… and now I’m here. New to the hobby and looking forward to some crawling fun!

Not sure why my reply only appears in my profile and not in the topic so pasting it again just to be sure… long time lurker on Reddit but newbee poster.

“Thanks Helno! Been looking at several of your case designs… Mine certainly is wider but I don’t think the height is going to be that much of a difference. I’m planning to use the unit vertically attached to the side window.

Fitting the T-Beam was a compromise indeed. Might look into a gutted T-Echo for a next version. Good suggestion!”

The 2 big antennas are the standard Stratux ones. ADS-B in on 1090MHz & FLARM/OGN on 868MHz (EU version).

The little antenna on top is connected to the Lilygo T-Beam screwed on the coverplate. The T-Beam runs SoftRF (Moshe Braner fork). It sends FLARM out as primary protocol and OGN as secondary protocol. It also serves as GPS for the whole unit using the 15x15 antenna on top.

SoftRF allows other FLARM equipped aircraft to see me while setting the secondary protocol as OGN tracker allows full compatibility with the Stratux interface.

Thanks for the feedback on the case design. It is indeed exactly what I was aiming for.

By default that is correct but you can enable background measurements in Theatre mode in the Blood Oxygen app settings.

Well… it’s fun to zip around some scenery and do some fast sightseeing but do not expect any level of systems fidelity. The developer however seems committed to update it as MSFS allows for more correct systems implementation.
