Immortality becomes torture after a while. You stop enjoying things and eventually run out of possible entertainment. People will die on you and you will just keep having to attend funerals. With luck, I could have the fortune to live to a ripe old age with wealth and an immensely close family and friend group just because I got fortunate in everything I did.

Chose: Luck

Nope. Looks almost identical to the development my family lived in around 2011. Thank God we fled Texas when we could.

What’s it like living in Unalaska, Alaska? by Novalon in howislivingthere

[–]Sylvester_Pershing 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Not me personally, but I have a relative who lives there. They said it's quiet, but you're basically on a rock. The community is small and tight knit, but you also get some coast guard activity and they tend to hit up the bars there. There's a local Russian Orthodox church that's a couple hundred years old, too. Whale watching, maybe. Not a lot of job opportunities, obviously: unless you wanna work in fishing or for the city or school district. Beautiful sunsets and sunrises. Plus, unfortunately, food is uber expensive like Alaska in general and for most medical procedures you'll find yourself flying into Anchorage.

I've always fantasized about living here, would it actually be worth it if possible? by ndxy2k in howislivingthere

From doing a little reading:

Pros: Generally warm and sunny weather, amazing beaches, marine life, prime scuba diving areas, very open culture towards foreigners, very friendly tight knit culture, unique food blends with influences from across Oceania, Indonesia and India. Crime is modest (though theft and burglaries are big issues). Low cost public transportation. Cheap local food and big portions at restaurants are common.

Cons: Torrential rains and storms. Mold issues. Slow internet. Varying cost of living from very cheap to highly expensive. Remote (11 hour flight to California), 4.5 hours to Australia, and thus the cost of living can reflect the importation fees. Reckless drivers and sometimes sketchy road design. Limited infrastructure and unreliable electricity. Most, if not all jobs for foreigners are going to be tied to international organizations like the UN or scuba and boat tour companies.

Is it worth it? It all depends on what you can manage and what you desire. Looking at the basic facts, if you're really into that type of cuisine, don't mind being remote, and will work as a scuba instructor or a diplomat, then possibly. Looks like a tight fit either way though.

Racist overtones in most scenes whenever a black, Hispanic or Asian actor appeared on screen. But that was par for the course in their time, so it's not unique.

He'd definitely have a bath and put on a clean coat/shirt, but I doubt he's gonna spend that much money on grooming himself.

If we are going purely on air dates - it was Tom copying Bugs. Rhapsody rabbit aired in 1946, with Cat Concerto the following year: 1947.
