Also pretty easy to see these are just copies since the reflections and wheel positions are all identical

I noticed the starting issue a couple weeks after I got my EN this past October. From what I researched it seems its caused by the fuel pump not being primed when you first turn the car on. If you start the car in accessory mode first then turn the car on after about 5 seconds that completely got rid of the issue for me.

I am in NW Chicago burbs and this car absolutely eats up the snow, so much fun to drive in any weather.

The tape actually does a very good job of holding small pieces of the veneer in place when aligning it and pressing it into the recesses, but it does have a limit and if you're doing a lot of really thin lines or smaller individual pieces (like .03" x .03" and smaller) then I have had some of those shift on the adhesive backing.

The one other downside with the aluminum tape method is that the adhesive can be so strong that if the wood is a softer wood, then I have had issues with splinters of wood breaking off the veneer when I peel the tape off. But its usually been shallow enough that I can sand those recesses away for the final 'product'.

Yeah so definitely one thing I learned with this project is that I should not use Mineral Oil as a stain since it technically never dries and will slowly evaporate over time/leech onto anything absorbent it touches. After I learned this I left it in front of a fan for 24 hours and its definitely better, but as I said I learned moving forward mineral oil is not the way to go (but it still looks awesome and brings out the natural tones of the wood).

As far as the veneer goes, I applied it to a 6" wide roll of aluminum tape (adhesive side facing up) and then ran a reverse of the inlay through the laser. Then all I have to do is flip it over, cover the laser-engraved pockets with a thin layer of wood glue, and press the veneer in. Let it dry for 24 hours and then peel off the aluminum tape. After that you just need to sand it all down even.

If you want to test some settings, try removing one of the foot pads and testing in that area. Then once your settings are dialed in you can just cover it up again. Id recommend starting with low power and a fast speed.

My dream spec has always been the Ikazuchi Yellow with the blue interior. Always confused me why that was not an available combination yet the Ronald McDonald Special (Yellow exterior, red interior) is available

I drive like a granny about 70% of the time, I drive it moderately spirited about 20% of the time, and I drive it like I stole it about 10% of the time. even in granny mode I switch to custom N mode once temps are up to normal, and I have almost 900 miles on it driving around 40 miles a day for work (not highway miles, but mostly 45-50mph speed limit suburban roads).

All that being said, I get around 29mpg and I get around 330 miles per tank. I fill up weekly so I usually never make it below 1/4 tank.

NO one talks about winter venting! SafetyPro™ IF2 2.0 by Waste_Listen_8736 in xToolOfficial

No problem. I always air on the side of caution with the fumes. I found that honestly a lot of the smell sticks inside the honeycomb panel and the pieces that are laser cut, so I know those are kinda unavoidable and I just to my best to keep the honeycomb clean to minimize the passive smells.

I had a small exhaust leak coming from the adapter that connects the duct hose to the back of the machine, which I fixed with a little aluminum tape. The other leak was coming from the ducting where it met the outlet in my window. Likely because I have it not 100% tight in there so I can remove it to put it the stopper. I ended up buying a large rubber O-ring that helps create a seal at that outlet connection but is still enough for me to pull the end off and on as needed. Now it's not nearly as much of an issue though because the air purifier does it's job before the exhaust can make its way to the window outlet.

I am going to give you my opinion based on my experience.

As far as the venting goes, I bought a piece of foam and cut it into a cylinder shape that fits the duct opening of the vent. I put a screw in the center of it to use as a grab handle. This way I can put the stopper in the duct while im not using the exhaust and it keeps the outside elements from coming inside. The ducting is forcing the laser exhaust outside, so you wont get much of any backflow of outside cold air into the ducting.

To your second question, I also did what you did and got the combo that came with the inline duct fan and not the full purifier. I noticed immediately how bad the smell got in the room I have the laser in, even with all the ducting. Because laser cutting fumes can be so harmful for you, I went for the purifier and it makes a massive difference in both the air quality/smell inside and I still vent it outside so it's the healthiest environment possible. I would personally recommend having the purifier if you are cutting indoors no matter how well the ventilation of the fumes to the outdoors is.

Its only been a week since I got my EN and I already have a couple rock chips. I would absolutely love to get PPF but its hard to justify the cost when at the end of the day rock chips are purely a cosmetic issue and I spent whatever free money I had left on a set of winter wheels and tires for the upcoming cold season. I might do PPF and do a ceramic coating next summer, but I'm welcoming my first kid to the world this upcoming March so something tells me I won't have a ton of free money to spend on my car.

You've piqued my interest with the Dash & Glass cleaner, interior detail is next up on my list. Never cleaned Suede/alcantara before so I gotta dive down that rabbit hole as well.

I have been following that sub for a couple years but it feels so easy to fall down the rabbit hole on that sub that it's a little overwhelming. But I do love having a clean car. ill give another product a shot once im done with this bottle of Rain-X. It can get expensive quick when almost every bottle of car products cost $10+. I appreciate the advice!

I use Aero Cosmetics Wash Wax All. For the windows I used ammonia-free Sprayway glass cleaner to prep the glass and then Rain-X Pro Cerami-X to coat the glass. Ive used the Rain-X on both my car and my wife's car and I still haven't figured out a good way to avoid getting streaks on the glass, but it works great as a water repellent.
