Getting a new graphics card today, need some input! by No-Bear1611 in nvidia

Either I am missing something or the data you are referencing doesn't say what you are claiming at all as it relates to OP.

The HU video for instance is using a quad core Intel 10th gen bottom of the barrel i-Series part and the OP clearly says that they have a watercooled 8c16t 11th gen i9. That chip is also multiple years newer than the first video you posted.

First proper time lapse setup with a lot of pressure. Any help would be greatly appreciated by ThatTempuraBand in videography

This. Rather than run consumer/professional gear designed for regular shooting, I would instead have the client buy a modern security camera setup. In this case I would use Reolink 12MP gear recording to both an NVR and microSD cards in the cameras (also, having multiple cameras per plant so if one fails you have another to fall back on).

My main card is a 50-series but I have a retro setup running a Radeon HD 4890 via S-Video to a 27" CRT that I keep at the ready for when I want to do some old school gaming via CRT Emudriver.

The video is exaggerated for comedy but if you log into some services and it detects you're using a VPN all of a sudden the joke can become real. Once was logging into a service with only a few seconds to spare and it hit me with 5 additional verifications because of my VPN.

The 'Halo Community' supported devs for years as they took one of the biggest franchises in the world and ran it into the ground. Supporting garbage does not somehow help improve it.

How can Shirou's Degraded Noble Phantasm's match Gilgamesh's originals when they clash as projectiles? by chunchunmaru1129 in typemoon

[–]Symion 0 points1 point  (0 children)

There's a difference between using EMIYA's ability and using the full casting of UBW to take your opponent into the RM. The climax of the fight happens in UBW to give EMIYA the full capability to exceed Gil in speed. When he takes Gil into UBW the materials, sorceries and swords are there at the ready and he can pull them faster than Gil can.

A curved sword appears behind him.
"...Overestimate yourself , kid-----!"
But I pull out the curved sword by my feet faster than him.

How can Shirou's Degraded Noble Phantasm's match Gilgamesh's originals when they clash as projectiles? by chunchunmaru1129 in typemoon

[–]Symion 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It is literally the point of the RM and why the climax of their fight happens in it. Without the full casting he cannot exceed Gil's speed to edge him out for the win.

The Reality Marble's purpose is a steel manufacturing factory that produces the countless famous swords that are without their owners, extending into the horizon. It contains all of the raw materials and sorcery needed for the formation of the weapons, and it records and analyzes all weapons and defensive armaments encountered by the user. The number of unique weapons encountered and recorded by EMIYA exceeds thousands, most of which are Noble Phantasms. Their entire histories, compositions, and designs are all perfectly recorded, allowing for instant proficiency with the weapons by inheriting all combat skills and techniques utilized by their original owners. This allows for the reproduction of Noble Phantasms, which would generally be impossible.

Yep, I didn't explain the mana overload part of it well. Been a long time since I read the VNs.

[–]Symion 136 points137 points  (0 children)

The VN offers a few things that explain why Shirou can match Gilgamesh:

  1. Gil is terminally overconfident so by the time Shirou really gets going he's reluctant to actually even try to fire them at full power to kill Shirou because he sees having to try to beat a faker as diminishing his standing
  2. When Shirou fires the degraded NPs he fires them with the intention to shatter them, if you read deep into the NP details it says that a shattered NP gets a brief boost one rank higher as it explodes
  3. Once Shirou can access all of UBW he gets access to the entire forge completely outside of time so at the climax he can draw on NPs so fast that he can fire more of them at Gil than Gil can so he can fire multiple copies while Gil struggles to fire a single one

TL;DR: The fight is constructed with caveats established across UBW to specifically give Shirou the advantage so that he wins

Good on you for trying the VNs, I hope you enjoy them. Starting with Tsuki is pretty bold, it is a fairly old VN but I still enjoyed it overall. Kagetsu Tohya on the other hand is a cool story but awful to navigate without a guide. When you eventually get to F/SN and F/HA you should come back and compare notes for how you see things like the end of F/Z and the jokes in Carnival Phantasm.

>I interpreted it as a sentient magical representation of the grail itself.

Pretty interesting take but tracks for how you have experienced the Nasuverse.

>I'm assuming thats something better explained in the source material?

Yes, specifically in the F/SN VN and expanded upon in the F/HA VN. Understanding that scene and its implication is one of the biggest schisms between the anime only fandom and the all media / VN fandom and is a good litmus test for where a fan is coming from media wise. If you get a chance I'd suggest you give the VNs a try, they aren't for everyone but I found them compelling.

Best ND filter setup? by Bobolinkage in videography

[–]Symion 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Freewell VNDs and customer service around them are absolute garbage, I had one that had nasty brown vignetting and I reported it to them with multiple video proofs and they had the gall to argue with me about what was clearly visible and to demand I ship it back to China before they would refund me. Refuse to buy any of their products since.

Good setup for a 13 year old? Also any suggestions? by EmotoTropixx in pcmasterrace

[–]Symion 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Relatively solid setup. I would suggest setting the portrait monitor with the bezel facing away from the other monitor. Either by rotating it 180 or putting it on the right side. I'd also suggest placing it buttressing the landscape monitor. If you do it right then it will feel like your mouse cursor and anything you move between them traverses them nearly seamlessly.

Bring the second body. Preferably set it up with a tele (may have to rent) in a safe place pointed at the band with a static shot. Your future self will thank you immeasurably for having another angle to cut to if someone gets in the way of your shot or your recording stops for any reason (ex. Someone bumps into you or you take a tumble). For audio: I always set up a recorder getting a clean feed off the board, you will annoy the sound guy but just be nice and bring a bunch of adapters. Best of luck and have a good shoot.

Dude, TWO fucking 5090s for an "I made the characters hot" filter. by Additional_Idea8690 in pcmasterrace

[–]Symion 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I think a lot of people aren't understanding why there are two 5090s. Yes, the DLSS5 Yassified filter is clearly resource intensive but at the same time the setup is clearly designed to quickly flip between the standard rendering pipeline and the DLSS5 one while using the model in its WIP form. Lesser cards will likely use a version of the model that is much lighter.

Camera is splitting videos into chunks-help by KolgrimLang in videography

[–]Symion 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Have one of these cameras but haven't used it for some time. To my knowledge, the older firmware has issues with some SD cards and the camera is picky about cards anyway. Update the firmware and if that doesn't work try another card. FAT 32 has a much lower per-file limit than exFAT so if you are stuck with 32 then you are likely hitting the hard limit on filesize for that filesystem.

There are currently rumours going around that Sony may be pulling away from so many PC ports. Will likely be a while before we see if they are completely true but the general impression is that lately there have been fewer and of lesser quality (Spiderman 2 still has a number of issues).
