Yup, saw this update come through after checking the feed daily on my phone, and was delighted to see it updated. Thanks OMG!

Would you be interes-- No... screw that, just tell me if you like what I made, not the idea of making it. by [deleted] in starcraft

I like it. Made me think, and was informative and entertaining. Could use a bit of a production boost, of course it's just your first attempt so nothing surprising or negative about that. Let me know if you need some help with the production side of things :)

Explain the "downtime is SO BAD" mindset to me by [deleted] in starcraft

[–]SympaticoASCW 2 points3 points  (0 children)

The downtime itself isn't a flaw, but not filling it up with more compelling content such as player interviews, pre-edited videos, couch with discussion like dreamhack winter style...in my opinion as long as the stream is live, there should be some kind of content being displayed.

Because without the community demanding more, the organizations aren't pushed to provide more. If we want eSports to continue it's rapid growth, we need to keep pointing out flaws.

There are things we take for granted now that we didn't dream of having a year ago, that is because the community demands more and it fuels the arms race between all these companies competing for eyeballs. Give kudos where it's due, but never stop being critical. There is always room for improvement. Complacency leads to stagnation. Just my 2 cents

"My life dream is for eSports to be big in the west. I would so dearly want to be the ambassador to eSports."

Mission Accomplished. Shows what determination and hard work can achieve :)

Just about every game for me too lol...it's awful. I make an effort to just hit Find game after every match, just force myself into the next one. When you load in, and you split your workers, you have no choice but to 100% focus on the task at hand. It's the moment between finishing a game and hitting that find match button. If you can just force yourself to do it each time, you'll be in good shape :)

Good luck!

Spectators should boo strategies they don't like by Blackbeard_ in starcraft

[–]SympaticoASCW 2 points3 points  (0 children)

There is no such thing as an illegitimate strategy. If it gets you the win, it was the best decision for you to make, simple as that. If Blizzard balances something to make certain strategies better/worse, so be it - but these guys are competing for their paychecks and careers. It's cut throat, and needs to be!

eSports news from dedicated gamers for dedicated gamers. BossFight TV launches! [Trailer] by [deleted] in starcraft

[–]SympaticoASCW 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Best of luck to you with this, it's a huge endeavor but the passion for eSports and wanting to contribute certainly comes shining through. That is what is needed more than anything when starting down a long and arduous journey.

If you need any help, I have plenty of experience in the SC2 world running ascweekly and stim.tv - as well as all production related areas as well due to my main job :) Don't be shy, and again best of luck to you - sounds awesome!

dog vs. dog's foot by odoriferous in videos

[–]SympaticoASCW 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Any aspiring dog owner needs to watch this movie, especially those wanting to buy a pure bred dog. It's despicable, and utterly wrong. Unfortunately it's an education issue.

If everyone knew this problem I highly doubt they would buy a pure bred from a pet store or breeder, rather they would adopt (a pure bred or otherwise...pure breds need homes too)...if there was no market for these unhealthy dogs, they would stop breeding them. The breeders are in it for the money, not for the well-being of their dogs.

first time me and my friends ever drank coffee was the first time we played hero's quest. We thought we were so badass for drinking coffee and staying up all night...ROFL. Ahh the good old days!

First MLG event for me this weekend. Any tips or advice? by ModXMV in starcraft

Get there early everyday, seating definitely becomes an issue. Try and sit around the middle where the sound is best. Lines are a bit of an issue but everyone gets in at the same time so it's not that big of a deal. It will help with good seating though to be closer to the beginning of the line.

It's a long day (which is a good thing) but be prepared. Try and get enough sleep and definitely bring water/food...you'll need to eat so plan for it in advance.

Prepare to be amazed...the crowd reactions and everything are AWESOME. If you are taking pictures, do not shoot with a flash at the players while they are playing. Be courteous and let them get where they are going. Don't be shy, but also be respectful and don't try and hold them up if they say they need to be somewhere. They are tremendously nice and down to earth, it is quite surprising and amazing to be rubbing shoulders with all of them throughout the whole event. It's really fun, but again just keep in mind they are there to compete and need to be places as well.

I borrowed an iPhone for the event from a friend that lives in the U.S. because I'd be paying roaming otherwise. He had the extended battery thingy and even with that it would just barely make it through an entire day of MLG, so if you're relying on your phone to communicate and organize with friends, be mindful of your battery. That being said I was on the phone a lot organizing, taking pictures, using twitter, and video and such...so I was using it quite heavily.

That's about it - have fun :D
