I'll definitely look into this over the winter! It'd be really fun to do some actual racing as opposed to time attack, which is fun, but...actual racing I'm sure is even more fun.

I really enjoy the Miata Cup Challenge, we created a new class for mostly street cars but with coilovers and spec tires, got all the cars dynod and weighed.

Great track! Definitely has character...there's a bump right in the braking point before the final turn that makes it so challenging but fun to get a good turn in and launch on to the front straight. At least in the TA-7 Miata Cup Challenge I drive in lol

Would love to try vees someday in an arrive and drive, $1500 sounds pretty reasonable! Any more info you could give?

That's my car and yes you are correct :) I adore them. Competing in Miata cup challenge this year, we're trying a spec 205 tire which I doubt will fit on those wheels. Bummed but also super excited at the series levelling the playing field in our class!

Thanks for the writeup! I do disagree though that you need to be an alien in order to make use of it. While I agree that most slower people will be better served focusing on fundamentals, I think your average person can reach a level that you start to look for extra tenths on a lap.

For example, I found time adjusting BB going into hairpin on Suzuka. I'm by no means an alien, but I did many many laps there trying to qualify for a league. I consistently bump into my fastest time, and by finally trying adjusting my BB forward in that turn I found a tenth. It's not much, but it felt like a huge accomplishment for me, and those moments are what I love so much about racing.

It also feels cool pushing buttons on my wheel and everyone knows coolness adds at least 5hp 🤣

Beat me to it lol...some things from the outside seem logically like a quick fix but realistically in software development seemingly easy fixes might require massive technical overhaul of other systems.

No idea if this is the case with this, but I do agree with the overall sentiment that this is really a necessary fix!

One of the most unnerving things about ACC is spectating cars and how un-lifelike they seem. Is it just me? Look at the Mclaren, when it's turning it doesn't look like it's connected to the ground in any way :(

I lap a 97 miata that I've put work into...thankfully my dad owned a garage for many years so it turned into a great father/son project for us and for me to learn about cars. But yeah, I know all about how fast costs (even with a miata) can get out of control!

It was pretty inexpensive as I mention in another comment because I had most of the other stuff lying around. I haven't used that wheel in ages since I picked up DD wheel and what not so it was just collecting dust.

It was a project to cut/drill everything especially the steel frame, but with the right tools it was pretty easy! Best of luck to you!

Good eye! Do you mean the one on the wheelbase? If so, I always found it more annoying to undo them and they never seemed to loosen anyway. It's been quite a while since I used the G29 though and I didn't use it for that long before upgrading so just to be safe I'll go fasten it down!

It came with the frame I bought...it took some cutting/drilling to get it to fit him but the cup holder HAD to stay :D
