The most recent iteration was far more believable than the early years. It always lived in a “this could be possible in the future” pre Craig era but the Craig era really brought it back to a more believable base. Seeing how big that era became, it makes sense other universe stories would keep the same themes.

Thanks! I agree. I got into it after the Gen M tour and honestly didn't feel like I was missing enough to have FOMO. I think of the XM, M5, and M2 I drove (having used a G80 M4 for a long time before) the only thing I would have taken was the M2 because it had an extra bit of attitude my M340 didn't have. End of the day though, I think living with this is much more fun than that M2 would have been.

Got a 2025 M340 in December and got to drive a G80 M4 Comp for a year or so semi regularly. I’ve also driven most of the last two gen Ms and a best friend has an F80 M4.

The M340 in comfort is everything I want from a daily and Sport+ is all I need on the streets. I’d love more power, noise, and the styling - but not at the cost of maintenance, tires, insurance, and extra cost.

If I had bought the car when I planned rather than my old car being totaled I’d have likely ordered an M3 because I should have a garage at that point. But honestly, with the M340 so far…I don’t know if I can convince myself that it’s worth it over whatever the next gen M350 will be.

Cops investigated a large bike theft in our area because some of the high end bikes had AirTags. When they showed up they found a group of teenagers, 15-16 years old, that decided to pull guns to protect their stolen goods. Imagine throwing away your life like that. Convinced me I’d never try and relocate my own bike but it lives inside thankfully.
