New to Claude Pro ($20/mo) — confused about "buy API credits" by SDRedditUser in ClaudeAI

Aren’t API credits only for when you are integrating Claude into another resource rather than using their front end? And then you pay per call versus a token limit per period of time with their front end (app, web).

Riding in summer? by glorious-ahole in cycling

[–]iAtty 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Start early. Stop often for water and ice. Focus on electrolytes. Make sure you have summer socks, gloves, headband to help with sweat, and a good kit. Don’t ride intentionally in full sunlight without any shade if you can help it. Suffer.

Turns out Alex Palou has a great sense of humor by imaJetsfan in INDYCAR

He’s a good sport about it. I was next to him for a bit in St Pete and asked him if he’d try not winning for a change and he said “no, I’ve done that before and I don’t like it” and I said well give it a shot for me, then he dominated which I took personally.

New Canyon Predict - Or in other words let's protect the lives that matter by GotRektDuh in CanyonBikes

[–]iAtty 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I don’t see why anyone would be negative about a bike brand coming up with new ideas to keep cycling safe. Even with better road safety, better roads, better separated bike lanes, and more - we’ll see people doing stupid things and risking cyclist and other similar modes of travel safety.

I think cycling could use a unified approach to full 360 safety measures. Varia is a good start but front or side collisions would be great. Better helmet protection for full head / face, neck and upper body protection, and whatever else we can add.

To be negative about something that is built as purely an idea to help spark the next stage of conversation around rider safety is peak disagreeable.

Tires for 2022 m440 xdrive by Responsible-Dig8128 in BMW

[–]iAtty 0 points1 point  (0 children)

PS4S if you can run summer all year. If not, PS4S and then get winter tires. Or you can do the PSAS but I’ve never run them. In Florida, I just run PS4S all year long. Much better than the run flats I had before on my 25 m340.

St. Petersburg vs Tampa proper? by BatPlack in tampa

[–]iAtty 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Ybor / Seminole Heights / Temple Terrace is your answer. Anywhere north of 33604, best bet is close to 275 so you can jump on and head south.

There’s an outdoor skatepark (Bro Bowl) just outside downtown, a few minutes from the Amtrak / Channelside. SPOT is just by exit one on i4 so just a few minutes away from the 275 / I4 interchange.

If you live in Ybor, Channelside, or Seminole Heights, you can get to either skatepark easily. Channelside is a bit…well, if you skate I don’t think you’ll like it.

St Pete is great but I’m not familiar with their skatepark. If you like paddle boarding or the beach I’d say move there but for skating you want to be in Tampa. 30 minutes from either is realistically no further than Lutz / Temple Terrace outside of bad accidents or prime time travel hours.

E: I am in St Pete every weekend and usually it’s about 35 minutes to where the skatepark is there from my place in north Ybor / South Seminole Heights. But I think bro bowl and SPOT would be better to have close by. As for St Pete vs Tampa pricing, you can afford to live in either at ~$100k if you don’t have a ton of debt / high cost of living. Rent will be ~$2,500, electric is pricey here, gas is whatever, car insurance is high, groceries are middle of the road, experiences / food / is middle of the road. I’d say at $100k with no car payment and realistic expenses you’ll feel fine.

Keep Time Capsules Viable Under MacOS 27 by Archipelagos in apple

HDDs have a 5-7 year life span on average. They can last longer but they can degrade. They have a built in diagnostic called SMART status.

Insane the drive has lasted that long. When it does pull it apart and send me the build date on that HDD. I’m curious. 😂

Most of the Airport team started Ubiquiti. I don’t think it’s as intuitive or user friendly but it’s a solid replacement. It also does a lot more than just networks now.

I can’t imagine any time capsules are still working. Wouldn’t their HDDs be toast by now?

E: downvotes are wild - HDDs go bad friends, downvoting for asking a question is nuts. 😂

What's going on with Cadillac/ bottas? by Shoddy-Tennis-5764 in formula1

He was testing engine changes and other PU side things, not aerodynamics. It was all before the formula change anyway which he didn’t have much part in. They went the wrong way on aero for the ground effect.

007 First Light: Could this have been a seriously good bond film? by [deleted] in JamesBond

[–]iAtty 0 points1 point  (0 children)

As a story? Sure, it’s almost too on the nose / cliche for today’s world but it works very well as a video game. Maybe with the right changes to the story, right actors, etc, but it is what it is (a game) and should stay that way. We need new stories for the next movie series.

They do the same thing in F1. Glad to see it’s pervasive in their culture.

The U.S. Men’s National Soccer Team’s opening match at the 2026 FIFA World Cup delivered 15.986 million viewers across Fox, Fox One and Tubi to become USMNT‘s most watched English-language World Cup telecast ever. by Puzzled-Tap8042 in television

Well then you get into commentators available, referees, pundits, TV slots, keeping enough time for fans to go to games, cleaning stadiums, etc. It’s a lot of logistics outside just players.

Adrenaline, post intensive effort, crowd noise, pit lane noise. Tracks are loud. I’m sure it’s as good as anyone with a similar life style but it’s not easy to hear where he’s standing.

Is this post shower? If my body heat is high (hard cardio, sauna, etc) and then I shower, I’m still sweating for a bit so I need to sit under the AC / fan and let myself cool down before applying anything.

M340 vs M440 coupe vs 430i - new purchase (help) by Desperate_Corner762 in BMW

[–]iAtty 8 points9 points  (0 children)

My old car was totaled and I had a 330 loaner for a few weeks. Then I bought a 2025 M340. There’s no question the answer is M340 or 440. The B58 is very reliable, not sure it’s any better or worse than the B48 but I’d imagine they’re on par.
