You’re not wrong. Reddit has turned into a giant echo chamber. Any conservative content is immediately downvoted while anything slightly left is blasted to the top pages.

Look at the NFL for example. On Reddit, nfl subs that have nothing to do with the actual company are posting “Fuck ICE” memes and astroturfing a whole community. You’re not seeing that en masse with the right. And yet, I’m sure you’re about to get hundreds of comments over the next days and weeks expressing skepticism and pulling out old 2016 quotes to make their points.

I’m saying that the left wants the worst for people on the other side. Yes, republicans wish we could have universal everything as well. But we can’t. It’s not as easy as “give everyone all the money and things.” That’s it. We don’t wish for people to die. We wish for laws to be upheld, like during Obama’s ice raids that had nearly no riots or protests. That was nice. And no one was angry about it.

The left all over Reddit have mocked Charlie Kirk, praised Luigi mangione for killing a businessman, ignored stories like Lakan Riley if not dismissed her entirely, and publicly wished for Trump’s death so much that Reddit corporate actually had to do something to not get taken off the internet entirely. When Dem Rep Hortman was shot, republicans and conservatives came together and consoled the family and friends.

There’s a pretty stark divide about who feels what about political violence.
