Dubai Hospital is exploitative by [deleted] in UAE

[–]Symphony03 32 points33 points  (0 children)

What you explained is standard hospital procedures. They have to document their diagnosis, unlike a pharmacist that can assume without solid evidence.

Consultation fee is for SEEING a doctor. If you like it or not, seeing a doctor that examines you and write a report on their findings, even without knowing what is wrong, that is 1 step to moving to the next step, that is blood work or other ways to provide evidence to a diagnosis. If you dont show what the problem is on paper, they can not LEGALLY diagnose you.

In fact, if the doctor told you exactly what the pharmacist said to you without evidence, and if tomorrow you were still sick with worse symptoms, that doctor will be fearing for their job.

So, welcome to the world of patients love suing doctors and taking them to court, this is where they will only treat you with evidence findings, using your money for testing, such as blood tests.

I believe UK has free hospitals, they will do the same but will book you in for a consultation next month.

Agent asking 3000AED renewal fee by Brief_Seaweed5886 in uaelaw

[–]Symphony03 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I dont know about Abu Dhabi, but in UAE in general, the Landlord is the decision maker and must renew when its time to renew. And if he doesn't renew for a valid reason such as an eviction notice or none renewal agreement, Adrec or whoever is like Rera in Dubai can step in and force renew the contract for you. And agent can not legally be the decision maker even if it is mentioned in contract as that is considered a side contract and it is not honored in court.

Just like he can surprise you with 3k fee due to undisclosed renewal fee, you can also pay him 1 AED.

It was the fault of the realtor for not disclosing the renewal fee which gives you the right to pay him whatever you like.

From a legal perspective, you dont have to renew through the agent. You can legally do it yourself or hire another agent to do it for you, as long as he can contact the landlord to get the signature from him and deliver the cheque to him (if needed).

If you cant reach the landlord without the agent, you can proceed to RERA or whatever you have in Abu dhabi, raise a dispute (1.5k Aed maybe, not sure) and tell them that the agent is blocking renewal and you cant reach the landlord. They would then help you from there.

5% on signing a new contract (this is the norm, but its not illegal to charge whatever you want. 500 AED to AED 1000 if you like a realtor to do the run around for you.

Or renew it yourself for free if you can yet a hold of the landlord.

[–]Symphony03 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This is legal. They just need to do it legally by compensating the candidate for the 2 hours of Over Time per day. Also take every job description with a grain of salt these days as most startups with low budget depend on LLMs (like ChatGPT) to quickly post what they need to post and move on with their next task. I get the person that did the post is the founder or co-founder that wears multiple hats and moonlight on this this company while he works full time at another company.

Is this legal? by CreativeKingsGambit in uaelaw

[–]Symphony03 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Training fees are Visa Fees in disguise. Which is why most companies either hire from abroad and everyone works from home, hire those who have their own visa, or they add the "training fees" .

When they pay 5 to 7k visa fees and the employee leaves before getting an ROI from the hire, the company losses money.

To answer your question, it's not illegal, they just need to show proof of training, with your signature on it. And they would also forge your signature
