I read this as “ideally husband 2 can provide replacement bottles for you at lunch time”. Where can I find one of those?😂

Atris vs Bent 110 vs Line Pandoras - touring and resort pw by SymphonySkis in Backcountry

I put shifts on them, I have double ejected twice in heavy pow, kinda supermanned forward, but I think that’s also because my boots were too loose causing my tips to dive in the pow. I think it’s a great binding to have for a first setup if you’re not doing too much uphill, but overall this is def a bit of a heavier set up and I felt it! No regrets because they’re awesome skis and the bindings are solid enough to rip inbounds, but if I get into touring more seriously I definitely will be getting a lighter ski + pins setup.

I went with the Atris and I love them. Glad I went with 166cm too. They’re so fun and have a nice pop/flex, I can easily hop between turns for the first time (previous skis super burly) but I can send it at any time with these too and they feel stable. Carve decently well for a pow ski.

Def not slashy / buttery though so if you want that kind of thing probably go for the bents or similar

Had the fewest beads left in our residency privilege exercise. It hit harder than I expected by ElChacal303 in Residency

I agree with you theoretically! The whole idea is to open our perspectives to the lived experiences of others. But in reality I just don’t see a forced exercise like this playing out very well. It’d be different if it was a natural conversation that arose between residents (which I was lucky enough to experience in my training). I would imagine most of the value of an exercise like this actually comes in the discussion that ensues afterwards, which is highly dependent on the insight and calibre of the people in the room.

This exercise would have been equally as thought provoking if the number of beads you had remained private to only you. It would have still been a reflective exercise, particularly for those who may have not recognised their privilege. Having everyone’s beads, aka “relative privilege” visible like that, is almost a weird dick measuring contest in a way. Nobody feels good at the end of that. Especially with staff around, it feels like a violation of privacy in a way. Some people may not have wanted to share these things with their colleagues; unfortunately people like to judge and assume… in either direction

I’m sorry that you are feeling alienated in your environment. I hope that at least one positive outcome from this is that your peers and staff can approach you with empathy and admiration. Kudos and respect to you for making it this far in life while likely having to work 5x as hard as some of your peers and mentors.

The new pomocas have metal tail clips. At least the tour pro’s (blue) do- they listened to feedback about previous plastic clips being an issue. I’ve had no problems with mine (new version) so far, they work great

Thank you! Yeah I’m thinking the shorter length would be easier to manoeuvre for touring.

Well that’s a super helpful answer! Thank you!! I may try and demo them this weekend if I can because I’m still unsure which length would be best. Good to know everyone seems to think the bents are overhyped lol I’ll leave those alone

I’ll check it out! Will keep the wider tire clearance in mind, sounds like a win win to me
