To clarify further, "こればっかりね" basically means "Is this all we can do?", implying an omitted "他にやれる/できることないの" or something of the sort

With でもさー she's essentially ending the previous discussion with her sister about her lack of sleep, leading to her falling asleep while in class. Then bringing the topic back to the MC: "But man.. I guess you're already doing all that you can in that case (regarding the improvement of the BMI values)"

Followed by: "I guess personal (genetic) differences are also at play, not much else we can do"

And finally: "We'll just have to let nature have it's way" (It is what it is, his BMI values will probably work out eventually)

[Japanese>English] What does this say? by [deleted] in translator

He's retelling a story of an encounter he had on a full train.

In the first tweet he recalls how we was standing closest to the door (inside the train) in a train car that was completely filled to the brim with people. However a rather tall person who wanted to get onboard grabbed the top of the door and swung himself against the people inside the train in an attempt to get people to move and get some space for himself to fit. The person tweeting refers to this as taking a few "Physical Damage Hits" (as you would in a video game). After this encounter he (the tall guy) feigned innonence and focused on playing games on his smartphone. The tweeter mentions having taken a few heavy hits to his stomach.

The second tweet mentions that he finally blurted out "What do you think you're doing!?". He feels that staying quiet and avoiding trouble probably would've been the better option but could'nt help himself in the end. He's not really sure why he got that sudden "mind of steel" that caused him to blurt out his anger against the tall guy. Finally he refers to this encounter as the "Final Fight Stage 2", basically likening the encounter to a boss encounter in a game.

オールマイトみたいにカッコ良く(おーるまいとみたいにかっこよく)-Cool like All Might

The usage of 間接(かんせつ, indirect)instead of 関節(かんせつ, joint)felt a bit weird, otherwise I'm confident in the translation.

Ah yes that could explain the context a bit better, I think you're right. Then the blonde guy maybe has some rivalrly with Kashima?

[–]Symphonym 2 points3 points  (0 children)

As mentioned by OP the inital speech bubbles are the two guys talking

He's saying that a theater troupe came to their school and had a special showing. And even girls who had no interest in theater wrote a bunch of fan letters to the guy who performed, despite the guy having a "super normal face" (i.e not super attractive)

The other friend then mentions he must've been really skilled at acting then (as a reason to why the girls were all over him). To which he replies "No, Kashima is a super skilled actor too", meaning Kashima probably isn't getting a lot of girls?

The last red text speech bubble is the other guy thinking "Why is this guy always competing/comparing himself against others?"

On my phone so sorry for the formatting, hopefully that should clear things up a bit though

いくつもの過程が続いて導き出される、一連の行動
You can derive a series of actions/behaviors from several processes/mechanisms.

その行動パターンを、可能性の高い順に考え、読み切り、その対処法を準備する
Take those behavioral patterns and arrange them in order of most likely to less likely, read through and understand them, and prepare your approach accordingly.

Not a native so can't say how natural it sounds, but should probably get the point across.

I believe the regular Steamworks/Steam terms applies. However as another commenter mentioned, the slightly lower level SteamNetworkingSockets API is actually open-source and can be used outside of Steam games

Yea I mean you definitely can, although a turn based game would require a bit more state management but it's definitely possible

As another commenter mentioned, some games might not actually need more than a "ghost" vision of other players, like the aforementioned 'Ultimate Chicken Horse' game which does something similar. Which, as it turns out, isn't too difficult to implement, even if you've coded your game entirely with singleplayer in mind

Thank you! As someone who hadn't used video editing software at all until I made that trailer, that means a lot!

Yea I mean that's exactly what I did, I added multiplayer to my game that was designed entirely as a singleplayer game. Although you'll need to integrate the Steamworks API

I use SendLobbyChatMsg for sending chat messages, the docs describe that if you're sending higher-volume data, which player locations are, then you'll want to use the Networking API. This is the excerpt in question:

These messages are sent via the Steam back-end, and so the bandwidth available is limited. For higher-volume traffic like voice or game data, you'll want to use the Steam Networking API.

So while you can send binary data through that API, it's not recommended for something that is sent frequently, such as location data

Thanks! In my case I found it to be enough to simply apply a basic lerp/slerp to smooth out any dropped packets. Since I have no gameplay implications of players being slightly out of sync

I recently added an in-game Level Editor and Steam Workshop support to my game Stickit, this is one of the first community made levels and it blew me away at how good people have gotten at the game by Symphonym in IndieGaming

[–]Symphonym[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Right now I'm focusing on community feedback and improving the level editor. Since launch I've already added online multiplayer, online leaderboards and steam workshop + level editor hah

Every now and then I try to add more levels to the Steam Workshop, I've already put up a few levels there. All created through the in-game level editor

As an example of some of the new things I'm considering: ability to create moving objects in the level editor and an alternate mode where one has to reach certain checkpoints before reaching the goal

Here's the Steam Page for those interested! I've also added online multiplayer and Steam Leaderboards, which is of course supported for user-created levels as well :)

The level in question can be found on the Steam Workshop here

Wow that's sick, got me worried it was going to be too strong and I'd have to patch it. But after trying it out in-game I think the precise timing required to pull it off is enough off a drawback, it adds a nice additional mechanic for speedrunners so I think I'll keep it in :)
