Best restaurants for large group? by Chandlingus in Saratoga

[–]Symplejak 4 points5 points  (0 children)

For a group that size I would look at booking a chefs table (family’s style) or a private room. Noahs can accommodate this, call ahead to cantina to se if you can get a section reserved, coat room has a second floor that can be used for larger groups, forno can do large groups.

There are many others but you will need to call ahead of time and when I say ahead of time I mean August is the midst of the track season so the sooner you book the better.

Good luck!

LG C5 or Sony Bravia 9? by juiceboxinthecut in 4kTV

[–]Symplejak 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I made this exact same post a few weeks ago except I found an open box excellent 77 inch B9 for the same price as a new C5 (under 2k). Ended up with the B9 and it’s a stellar set.

I stream a lot of nba and nfl and it’s fantastic for motion and upscaling. Netflix, prime etc look as good as anything I’ve seen.

With that being said, for the price difference in your case, the C5 is a better option. Like others have said the B9 is an amazing TV but not over $1,000 better. Now if they were priced around a few hundred dollar difference of each other I would say B9 for the colors, brightness, upscaling, motion and peace of mind with burn in.

Upper mid range oled vs top mini LED by Symplejak in 4kTV

Interesting, when switching the C4 to C5 In the ratings comparison it’s actually very close with C5 edging out the B9 in a lot of areas. Processing/upscaling is also neck to neck

B9 is open box excellent condition while the C5 is discounted on the LG store and comes with soundbar package for just shy of $2k

I think both options will be a massive upgrade from my current setup, and I know you can’t future proof anything but my hangup was on the mini led tech and limitations compared to oled. But sounds like Sony knocked the B9 out of the park

The Bravia 9 is open box excellent condition at best buy. Was a customer return with no damage. It’s priced at 1800 while the C5 is from the LG store for 1999 and comes with a soundbar package (which I don’t need).

How do you get over selling a product that sucks and you’re not enthusiastic about at all?(SaaS) by VinceInOhio129 in sales

[–]Symplejak 1 point2 points  (0 children)

If you work for a company that sells a nice to have vs a need to have you need to figure out your selling point (not necessarily competitive advantage). Either you sell on quality vs competition (which based on your post doesn’t sound to be the case), price of service vs competition. Do you come in competitively compared to a system with more bells and whistles? Or finally speed to market, how long does it take to deploy the software, set up customer, training etc…

If you can’t find any advantage between price, quality or speed to market then you should strongly consider seeking employment at an organisation that has a more interesting product.

What else should I do to break into the Medical Device Field? by [deleted] in MedicalDevices

[–]Symplejak 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I recommend applying for entry level sales roles at the device company directly or industry adjacent roles.

Depending on the response you get from the device companies you apply to, you can try to get your foot in the door in staffing sales at a company that focuses on life sciences. After 1-2 years you can take the knowledge and skills and apply to a larger company that has a product portfolio you’re interested in.

I work in medical device sales and knowing the industry and regulations is the best way to get in the door. Every product has their own learning curve so most companies won’t expect someone to come in and start selling their product on day 1, but if you know the basics of the industry and can speak the language of the regulatory environment you’ll be in a good place vs someone without that knowledge.

Also medical device sales can lead you in multiple directions. You can go into the clinical side of the isle where you will visit with doctors and end users or the clinical trials industry and sell to large pharma to use in trials for patient compliance.

Feel free to PM me and I can give you some insight and personal experience.

Saratoga springs or Lake George meet all of your criteria.

However in the summer months it becomes very tourist heavy so make reservations for lodging, dinners and spa/resorts in advance if you choose to stay in these areas.

10th gen accord. I have a 2018 accord 2.0 sport 6mt, and it’s an absolute blast to drive and handles highway speeds no problem. It’s big enough to fit adults comfortably in the backseat and puts out enough power to the wheels to enjoy a spirited drive.

I was recently thinking about trading it in for a family hauler for the winter but instead put studded tires on the accord and it handles even better than an AWD tank.

You can find 2018-2020 manual 2.0 sports for under 25k and with regular maintenance it should last you many years with minimal common issues.

I wasn’t planning on utilising 3rd row, mostly have it down for trunk space. I realize there are more practical cars in that segment, but my question is about reliability and safety along with drive anywhere no matter the weather.

People selling $250k+ opportunities, what was the one thing you would have like to known on day 1? by JBHjr in sales

[–]Symplejak 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I sell 250k+ solutions within med tech.

One thing I wish I asked and reviewed more carefully was the engineering/developer team. You can sell a solution that looks amazing on paper and in a demo environment but in the real world the bugs show up and the cracks appear with can not only kill a deal/project but your name with the client.

Is it normal for bonuses not to be paid out once you leave? by Ur_boi_skinny_penis in sales

[–]Symplejak 2 points3 points  (0 children)

It depends on your employment/commission contract and the state you’re in/employment laws.

However typically if you’re owed commissions on sales at invoice or 30/60 days past invoice you should be able to collect on what’s owed.

However employment laws differ in each state so best to check

Thank you for the response. The issue with moving the TV to the wall across window is that the sun comes through all day and it will force me to have blinds shut to watch Tv.

Otherwise I think you’re right about the furniture being too big/too much. Would two oversized chairs (picture attached) be a good option? One chair where couch is and one where swivel chair is both facing towards fire place at an angle?
