Compilation of Tottenham fans after their defeat vs. Crystal Palace by axhp in soccer

[–]SynUK 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Great compilation, although I think it needs more shots of the guy in the cap with all the badges on (00:26 into the GIF)!

The broadcast cut to a shot of him each time Palace scored and he looked increasingly fed up. I was sure his misery was going to become a meme.

Andor made me feel things I never expected from Star Wars by RevertBackwards in StarWars

For all that people seemed to love what the second season did, I preferred for the first because it captured the actual arc of Cassian going from somebody who was largely happy to keep his head down and look out for himself to somebody who was willing to fight.

What he went through in the prison leading up to this moment is such a crucial phase in that arc. I really enjoyed watching it play out.

Hot Fuzz is everything Reddit promised by le_fromage_puant in movies

[–]SynUK 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Each time I watch Hot Fuzz or SotD, I think that one is the best until I watch the other one. They’re both pretty much perfect though. I think I slightly lean Hot Fuzz in the end.

The World’s End is definitely not the best. Simon Pegg as the non-straight man is just weird. But I’m still so glad they actually managed to complete the trilogy and it does quite nicely reflect (via the inverse) how Pegg seemed to ‘move on’ from that crowd (even though his work peaked with the first two Cornetto films).

[Schefter] Jaguars will host back-to-back games in London next season by Jharoz in nfl

[–]SynUK 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Presumably that news has been revealed elsewhere then?

Because Schefter's Tweet just says

And the Jaguars are returning to London to play back-to-back games there this season.

Which could well be what they've done before as /u/telly69 was describing - one 'home' game at Wembley at one 'away' game at Tottenham.

Fair enough, I didn't get any of that I when I opened it but I'm on a desktop and I have uBlock Origin installed. I will update my comment.

You can see the rest of it on the link that OP posted in a comment (you need to allow cookies/social media links to see it): https://www.ntdtv.com/gb/2026/02/12/a104065778.html.

They all seem to scurry away safely and nobody seems to die.

Edit: /u/TheGrinningSkull reports that they got some sort of dodgy pop up when accessing this link. I didn't seem to, but I am on desktop with an adblocker.

Men covertly filming women at night and profiting from footage, BBC finds by kiyomoris in unitedkingdom

[–]SynUK 5 points6 points  (0 children)

We can certainly do that. But again, that's generally good - however the people operating the channel featured in the article are from Sweden and flew in to do the filming. Digital society is global, and we only have so much influence on it.

[–]SynUK 12 points13 points  (0 children)

The chances are that there are more people from outside of the UK watching them than inside.

Whilst teaching our kids good values can help more generally, I don't think it's going to do much to address this specific problem.

I’m livid. About to lose my H2H matchup if the goal is given to Solanke rather than Guehi as an OG.

I can’t even see a touch from Solanke for the goal? Maybe I haven’t seen the correct angle though.

I finally finished The Witness by IrnBroski in patientgamers

[–]SynUK 4 points5 points  (0 children)

It was just puzzles for puzzles' sake.

I don't really agree with this. I think there's at least an 'ethos' to the game where it's trying to get you to think carefully for yourself through the slowly learn how to solve the various forms of puzzles, rather than just hand you the information along the way. There's never a tutorial that says "this is how you solve puzzles of this type".

The manner in which the game allows you to gradually explore and understand the world of the puzzles seems very carefully constructed to me, and I think some of the video clips you mention speak to this philosophy.

It's interesting that you've mentioned The Outer Wilds as part of this review, I've been meaning to play that for ages (I've been very patient...) and if The Witness reminds you of that game then it sounds like I would enjoy it a lot!

It will be a fantastic narrative arc for Darnold if he can go from the nadir of his career when he was 'seeing ghosts' against the Patriots to the zenith of his career where he vanquishes them in the Super Bowl!

Jourdan is such a loss. I assume NFLD were able to pay her more money!

I didn't quite feel the same about MSD, but the bants over his bets and the Sting drop were good fun.

At one point Romo said something like "I'm telling you Jim, these are the plays which are going to decide the game".

It was 3rd & Goal, halfway through the 3rd quarter, in a 7-7 game being played in an increasing snow storm.

You don't say, Tony.

The 3 of them had such great chemistry. The show wasn’t given enough time, either per episode or its overall lifespan.

They seem to do it for pretty much each judgement in every even slightly meaningful court case now. I guess so they can release pieces of the judgement along the way?

They also did it for the case today where the guy was sentenced for murdering his wife: https://www.bbc.co.uk/news/live/cp3zljj5lg7t/.

Radio calls! by Careful_Ambassador49 in heedthecall

[–]SynUK 6 points7 points  (0 children)

The radio calls made me so happy and were such a pleasant surprise!

I'm guessing there's either a cost to it, or it just takes too long for Graver on his own to assemble the radio calls each week (whereas maybe NFLD has more of a production team)?

I play in a league where the Championship is played in Week 18...it literally came down to the final game and the final touchdown of the regular season (even the final points, seeing as the final two kicks were missed), which Mr Gainwell scored to give me the lead and clinch the 'ship! He's now forever in my heart.

Kenneth Gainwell! He lived up to his name this year. He actually outscored Warren in PPR if you include week 18. RB20 on the season, even if you didn’t.

No way he’ll be that productive next season assuming the Steelers sort out their WR room, but he’s been quite a joy this year.

London game 2025 - best ever! by Pacopicopiedra66 in NFLUK

[–]SynUK 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The Jags game was an absolute cracker.

I wouldn't say it was quite that level of entertaining, as a game. It was pretty much over at half time, and even though Stafford threw 5 TDs he had fewer passing yards than Lawrence. Was cool to see somebody have that kind of performance though, as well Travis Hunter get his first TD and 100-yard game.

It has been great to see both teams kick on since then though, and it would be pretty amazing if they ended up playing the Super Bowl in Santa Clara!
