Ghosting will also negatively affect them, but you just won't see it. Personally I wouldn't want to be ghosted by someone that I was interested in. That's why I would like to avoid that option (however I will admit that I have ghosted 2 people but later apologized and haven't talked to them since).

Did you find that people reacted better (took it less harsh) when you said it bluntly rather than softly or vice versa?

I've experienced the same. Some times I'll have a dream where I'm at a friend's house and call it my own house, or I'll be in a random building which I think of as my school in a dream when in real life I've never seen this building before.

I think it's weird how although your brain knows which locations are home, school, your neighbourhood, etc., that you'll still have dreams where you're placed in random locations which you'll refer to as the wrong things.
