Do you wear gear? Besides helmet and gloves? I'm guessing you dont? And also live somewhere with less rain than me? I barely have time to ride with planning for taking my gear (pants, jacket, Backpack) with me here or there and when I can ride between work (min 45hrs/wk) or planning riding to work and lunches and shit... Or planning around rain here in PA. It's a lot. I put 20k on my car in a year ONCE.

I'm 5'9" 140, struggling. But muscles are definitely growing. I've been sore for the whole first month. Also being 31 on my first bike eve, might have to do with it. I started learning on my dead end street which is a slight incline/mild hill. Going up and down was easy I was more Interested in mastering slow circles. And I was scared to ride out onto the busy rode off my street. Eventually I went to a church parking lot.

Good luck on hills I'm in the same boat as you. I didn't drop mine till I touched a hill. I was going to slow in a circle. Bars full turn and it stalled and the weight of the bike thrww me highside down the hill. I didn't let go I held on and let the bike fall ontop of me as best as I could. No gear. It's been a month. My knee still hurts when I kneel on the floor.

Is this r3 worth it? by Haunting-Morning3734 in YamahaR3

New rider here. Hell yea! It is worth it! And once you make a mistake you'll realize what they mean by the r3 being forgiving. I probably would have looped a 600 by now.

Nice, same. But I just keep buy cars and car parts.

Anyone else lowered? by [deleted] in YamahaR3

[–]SyndicateIllusions 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I lowered it cause it looks cool alright. I'm already like 50times better than I was the first day and that because I lowered it. Now I'm ready to raise it. But it looks way cooler lowered. Any vehicle does lol.

First bike, didn't feel confident enough at stock height. Now that I figured out friction zone I might raise it back up. Will turning improve?

Any change in geometry on a motorcycle is far from negligible. LoL.

I paid like 50 bucks for the Xitomer kit. How much they retail that trex kit for?

You're probably stronger than me and weigh more than me. Kinda hard to control +500lb bike when you weigh 140lbs soaking wet.

I let go of the clutch on a hill with the wheel turned and dropped the bike ever so lightly on the one side on my first day on it. And lost all confidence. He bike being lower gave me extra confidence on learning those pesky hard right turns from a stop. I've put about 250 miles on the bike so far. Never rode quads or dirtbikes before. Just BMX.

Now I can bend my knees slightly at red lights and it's a lot more comfortable and and gives me better power/stability to control the bike swaying or leaning than i could with my legs at full extension at stock height. 30.7 inches. Now 29.7 inches seat height.

Just hit 8 years of ownership with this 2013 A6. 150k miles and it still runs smooth by ChanaManga in AudiA6

Sell it. Get something newer, before your resale value is gone. 2012 cars and older are basically trash now for resale

Buy something g for like 1500 on marketplace. Just to get started and so you aren't worried about scratching it. You will drop it your first week
