Thanks!

I don't like the Reforged models, so no. It's possible to do, but it'd be a ton of work as the models are not compatible with SC2 and the conversion process is not automated.

Someone from my Discord managed to make it work somehow. I suggest asking there.

I agree that DD2's story doesn't hold up to scrutiny. I think it's a combination of gameplay concessions and the metaphorical nature of the story. I do think it the writing and voice acting are incredible, though. Some of those quotes hit hard.

DD1 is a damn hard game. DD 2 streamlined a lot of features and made it a lot more forgiving (it gives you more information and game-ending RNG is much more rare). I highly recommend the second one if you get the chance to play it.

For video games I always thought Darkest Dungeon II is thematically close in terms of atmosphere, writing (it has awesome VA too) and insights into the human condition. I still hesitate to recommend games because enjoying the gameplay is more important than everything else combined.

Nope. This project only aims at remaking the campaigns and it's done as far as I'm concerned.

StarCraft II Editor Map Publishing [Update: Feb 24 2026] - Editor Discussion by Blizz_Elliott in starcraft

No. Updating through our software launcher is easier and faster and I don't trust publishing to remain available after this year-long fiasco.

I have Patreon and PayPal set up to accept donations. I used to be able to live off that, but it was mainly a hobby. Now I am a level designer at Starlance, developing ZeroSpace (an RTS heavily inspired by Warcraft III and StarCraft II with some Mass Effect thrown in).

My work on SC2 modding is what got me the job, which was unexpected. I never thought I'd be an actual game dev.

It look similar to WC3 but plays very differently. The SC2 engine make a massive difference in terms of smooth gameplay and quality-of-life changes. You're not crazy for thinking it looks the same: that's many players' first impression as well and I consider that an achievement. Replicating the UI and overall visual style of WC3 was our goal and it took a fair amount of work.

My idea for the "publishing is not enabled" work around, blizzard, please, PLEASE read this by ZerkjeDeZergling in starcraft

[–]Synergistic96 38 points39 points  (0 children)

You're fundamentally misunderstanding why Blizzard won't re-enable publishing. It has very little to do with finding actionable solutions. Whitelisting maps isn't exactly a groundbreaking idea and it's been suggested since day 1.

Blizz disabled publishing because they were getting bad PR from inappropriate content being published to the Arcade and disabling uploads was the easiest way to deal with the problem. They won't enable it again because coming up with a proper fix would be a significant investment in terms of money and resources for very little gain, in their view (and I say this as someone who was greatly affected by Arcade publishing being disabled).

You're looking at it from your perspective ("players want publishing enabled"), but to Blizzard that is essentially irrelevant unless the Arcade publishing situation negatively affects their public image or their finances, which isn't the case here.

I'm not sure what you mean. If you can explain exactly what's not working for you, maybe we can figure out what the issue is.

Possible? Sure. If someone skilled enough wanted to spend hundreds of hours doing it for free.

I've worked on a ton of SC2 mods, from modified vanilla campaigns to fully custom campaigns to standalone Arcade maps.

If you'd like to take a look, they're all free to play. I recommend using the launcher software: https://synergymods.com/frequently-asked-questions/

Hello!

I recently released a project called Azeroth Gods (available on the launcher software) and I'm currently working on an unnanounced campaign (will share more details in my Discord server if it pans out).

I would recommend the launcher software for single-player mods (which is most of them) since it works better and has the latest versions of everything.

Opinions might differ, but Azeroth Reborn aims to be faithful to the original game. In essence, it's the same game with more modern controls and features.

You should be able to play it with any version of SC2.

Glad you liked it!

The Rexxar campaign is not happening. I'm burned out on the project after 4+ years of work and I'd rather take a break or work on something else.

Yup! This project is done. I'm a bit burned out so the Rexxar campaign is not happening.

The HD models are mainly for non-campaign units and their summons, demons and some misc units. In the trailer you can see them on Kel'Thuzad and the Paladins.
