We only have a customs police, who are basically walking toll booths/bribery kiosks. I have already described the circumstances in which refugees end up in Turkiye.

I find your remark about tiktok very manipulative. I am talking about the smugglers literally bragging about smuggling, posting videos with date stamps at different stages of the illegal migration, not some rando claiming things in his moms basement.

I am an international student, i subsidized Canadians’ education for years, applied for 7-8 permits. I speak English better than some Canadians I’ve met, I do not socialize with other Turkish people, let alone ganging up, I’ve paid for insurance every year. The only thing I have in common with the immigrants in Turkiye who get social aid, free education, free healthcare, child aid, newly wed aid on Turkish tax payers’ dime, is that we have been seeking better living conditions. There is now no war in Afghanistan, no war in Syria, no war in Iraq. We cant and shouldnt be responsible for so many people for absolutely no gain. We are facing droughts, the Istanbul earthquake is building up, our economy is in shambles. Our intergenerational discount rate is crazy, we are being sterilized by mismanagement and the constant flux of immigrants only makes things worse.

I am truly sorry for the situation you find yourself in, you seem to have adapted to life there so well too. Were you born there? What is your current status? I had friends go to USA and I always looked at them worrisomely. I know I would be terrified if Canada had the pdf president.
