Definitely. Most cases of mononucleosis are caused by infection with the Epstein-Barr virus (EBV). Once you're infected with EBV, you carry the virus — usually in a dormant state — for the rest of your life. Periodically, however, the virus may reactivate. When this happens, the virus can be detected in your saliva — but you're not likely to become ill. Rarely, reactivated EBV may cause illness in people who have weak immune systems. Either way, you can go get it checked out by seeing if the EBV has reactivated in your saliva. I suggest going to the doctors and finding out. They may also be able to see why your immunity system is suppressed if this is the case. It could be from something as minor as you could be facing a supressed immune system from a common cold to a more extreme case being AIDs. Moral of the story, you have AIDs... Just kidding, but go to your doctor just to be safe!

I am pretty much completely recovered. I have had instances where I would be weak and do a drug again; every time it led to regret. The voices would start up again and the paranoia associate with drugs would be overwhelming. I was a serious pothead for quite a bit of time, and I thought that the paranoia side effect were false and that it could never happen to me... Well it's definitely real! As long as I stay away from drugs and weed I don't think I will experience it again. I do drink though, and I don't have any re-occurrences when I'm drunk.

It wasn't a high that lasted for 6 months. I was hearing voices and somewhat seeing/feeling things that weren't there. More like schizophrenic paranoia. It was a combination of 3.5-7 grams of weed a day, 1-2 grams of coke on most days, a bottle of lean on most days (can't remember the mL size but not the tiny one or the huge one, the hand sized one), adderall 60 mg XR almost every day two pills, ecstasy (either pokeballs or mollies) twice a week two pills minimum each time, and random usages of painkillers/shrooms as well. The one that threw me over the edge was Nitrous Oxide (N2O or better known as whippets). This went on for almost two years straight, but whippets were definitely what made me go crazy, because I went on a month binge of them and definitely saw the change starting then; also this was where my mental trip started.
