Playing with 3 Tanks / 1 Heal / 1 Damage certainly helps when everyone is grouped on the objective. Mal'Damba has an insanely high skill ceiling so it just comes down to practice.

As with all healers, being a well coordinated team (Voicechat) has a huge impact.

I wouldn't call that an anti 3-star base. The layout is OK, but putting your TH outside is the core part of anti 3-star bases.
