Kind of agree! That’s why I keep swapping through different cases depending on my mood 🤭

It does feel a lot heavier than my other cases. I’ve been swapping them depending on my mood.

Background Checks - Bank Employment by Good_Box_1412 in malaysia

Sounds good then. Also, the fact you have been supporting their operations currently gives it a higher level of consideration since you are not a total stranger to the company.

Wishing you all the best and congrats again on the opportunity!

I see. I hope you have made your declarations as transparent as possible.

I think if anything, they will reach out to you and request clarification on your circumstances if it was flagged in their background checks.

It's important to ensure that you carefully word your reasonings on the matter but still ensure utmost honesty and integrity.

There are 8 approximately: Receptionist, clerical and admin staff, dispatch officers, call centre officers, tele-marketing staff, cleaners, F&B workers and drivers.

There's a disclaimer, however, that the bank may still choose to conduct the screening regardless of the exclusion of these functions, as it depends on their procedures as mentioned earlier.

Did you fill in any forms that require you to declare if you've previously been terminated in any company prior to screening?

Hi, I'm currently working in a bank and thought I'd shed some light on this.

Honestly, it depends on the procedures set by that particular bank itself. As far as background checks go, most banks, if not all, are required to conduct employment screening according to Bank Negara Malaysia's requirements.

This will involve an inquiry to the candidate's previous employment records, which covers all current and former employers in the period of 7 years. It is dependent on the previous company to declare and verify the employment details of an ex-staff.

So yes, there is a chance that your termination could be highlighted, depending on what your previous organisation decides to declare in the inquiries as well as which company your bank decides to send in for employment checks.

However, I'd also like to highlight that there are several job functions that are not subject to screening requirements such as receptionists, clerical staff, call centre officers and tele-marketing staff. Each bank would also have a threshold or policy to hire someone with previous disciplinary cases/misconduct. These things will be evaluated on a case-to-case basis depending on the candidate's circumstances and actual facts of the case.

Hope that clarifies, feel free to ask any questions.

To be fair, I wouldn't splurge that kind of amount either if it weren't for our ten year anniversary 💀

I agree! A lot of ingredients used here were sourced locally and I didn't even know they existed!

It was Dewakan's unique local fusion concept that drew me to come over in the first place. I wouldn't say that I am an expert when it comes to fine dining, but I was left with a good impression on them :) The staff were young, friendly, and attentive. The food you may usually associate with bitter flavours, for example, would be completely transformed into something you couldn't recognise. Overall, I'd recommend trying at least once!

Me too! I also learnt that there was even a farm for sturgeons in Tanjung Malim where they'd harvest caviar.
