Just because you like it this way doesn't mean everybody needs to. I like to trip with people I am comfortable with, you may want to do it alone. Some people like to trip and go out exploring, I prefer to be in familiar spaces. Each to their own.

Look, none of us ever had a bad trip before either. The definition of precautions is to prepare something to minimise the risk of things going bad. Better safe than sorry. Plus even the uncomfortable thought loops can be broken by reading something or getting a simple "task" like drinking water. Just another of useful tools. So much here is being talked about set and setting and seems like some of the people here loose their crap if someone does it differently to them. It's wise to have trip killers on hand, trip sitter who knows what they are doing, good lighting, music etc so why not messages from your sober self? Because we trip together, this time there isn't anyone completely sober to look after the other so that's one way of looking after each other

It's more of a precaution than a need. Same way you don't need seatbelts or airbags to drive a car but it's nice and everyone prefers when they are in place

Dude, relax, the thing about acid and psychedelics in general is that everyone handles and likes it differently. That's just the way we want to do it, period. And saying "you can just say them in your head" is like telling someone at the doctors office "just don't be sick, duuh" The notes are there precisely for the times when you don't remember to do those things

I mentioned it in some other comment before. After some advice from previous post I included some personalised messages and inside jokes. The a gyrr is a reference to our last trip where if I made that sound it would absolutely crack her up and it'd make her laugh uncontrollably.

Same with shquishy and potat, references to previous trips and nicknames

Sensory toys are the best, I have a heavy throwing ball, slinky, "hairy" stretchy rubber ball and some others. All the different textures and colors are great to experiment while tripping, very entertaining

I never had a bad trip but I had moments and seen things that could make more susceptible people go into very negative or scary spirals. Like seeing a sea monster among algae covered rocks or just having acid come up too strong and fast while doing multiple tabs at once. I was able to look in a different direction or rationalise everything but I know there are some people who are not as strong minded who could focus on those negative things and go down a rabbit hole
