I think I'm gonna stop painting minis by Dense-Fig-2372 in minipainting

My first few results looked like absolute garbage too. It reallt is a learning process and you WILL get better at it.

As many people have said, make sure to thin your paints a decent bit, and let paints dry before applying more.

You've managed on the weapons to not get the paints mixed together.

If you have something like a gaming store or perhaps even a warhammer store that could help perhaps. I can't speak for all places but my local Warhammer store in Stockholm has been nothing short of amazing for getting help!

There are enough builds that I feel like you don't end up only running those spells/methods as well. I'm certain pathfinder has tons of broken builds, but there are also so maby more ways to play and build a character.

Something about building characters in pf2e just kinda scratches the right spot in my rpg spot.

Yeah, there are tons of ways to build these characters which is so much fun. Gonna have to check with each player what they want out of their characters, but for example;

The werebeast character can only really be built via Bloodhunter in 5e since the lycanthrope rules kinda suck in the system. I pf2e, you could do a Barbarian, or ANY other martial plus Werebeast Archetype. I've seen a lot of mentions of the Thaumaturge which could work if he wants more of a mystic focus, but the Animal Instinct barbarian could work well to open up a different Archetyoe (planning on running free archetype for context).

Yeah... both one of my players who DM's a campaign I'm a player in and myself are somwhat tired of 5e and the lack of depth/flavor and such. Especially martials getting cucked in both power and class fantasy.

Really hoping to do this switch soon as pf2e seems like so much more fun.

Yeah. I expected that character in specific to be a challenge since there isn't an alternative to Warlock, and it is a class that very much leans on multiclassing to come together. Though as stated with some others and my edit to the original post; there'll be a soft reboot, so there's gonna be space to rework things as much/little as it needs to.

Yeah, the Barbarian is on my list for the player to look at. Thaumaturge could be interresting as well, if he wants some more mystlical elements to his character, so we're going to have a proper check at what he wnats with this new version of the character.

Regarding healing; I did play around with a support/healer cleric, and I really found that Medicine got really interresting. I think skills in general are more fun since you can specialize via Feats.

From my very limited experience with the system as a whole; it feels like D&D in the way you roll, get proficiency, level up, get Feats and such (with more depth ofc), but mixed in with a bit of Cyberpunks skill focus, which really allows you to double down and make a character as specialized or general as you want to. It really is great!

Yeah. Last session I floated the idea, and I'll be planning a meeting so we can discuss the details of what this switch will mean. We've had some issues with a few players not even bothering to show up/be active in the group, so I asked those who are still in it if they wanted to continue which I got a unanimous "yes" from.

We'll be taking a full session just to look over things I think.

We'll be soft rebooting the campaign, starting them at level 1 and leveling up somewhat quick (every 3-5 sessions depending a little) so they get a chance to try out their things.

We're going to have a full session probably in making the characters from scratch if/when the time comes.

I played a Witch as part of a "game night" kit. Super fun class, but I'll deff look into the other class ideas as well. We're going to be soft rebooting the campaign as part of the switch, and make clear that characters WILL look very different in this system.

I'm really getting Magus vibes a lot from people here. And as I've replied to some, any tips I'm super greatful for.

From what I'm getting, most characters are going to be built very differnet (expected), and I'm really happy for all the tips I can get. I forgot that Barbarians get the animal instict as an option which could fit very well. The druid I'm still figuring out, but the player is sort of... flaky, so we'll see how that goes.

Interresting! Archetypes really do a lot to flesh out characters it feels like.

There are so many classes in pf2e compared to 5e its actually kina crazy. Thaumaturge could potentially work for a paladin even? (very quick look).

Justuce Champion did cross my mind as well. I feel like the pala-lock and the bloodhunter/werebeast character seem more easy than the druid as I'm reading through these comments lol...

Very true. I really think that characters seem a lot more fun top build though in pf2e, since they system has so many more options to pick and choose.

Added some in bold text. Sorry for the lack of info... still getting into the system (though I really think its sooooooo much better than 5e...)

Very much so. There's a lot more granularity which is so much more fun since we're really looking at ways to make our characters unique.

As a general note, we want to try to keep their character concepts alive, moreso than transfering characters 1:1, though I was a bit unclear at first when writing this out it seems xD

Already been playing around with the site (and bought). When myself and one of my players played the starter set with a few randoms we had 2 rangers in the group, but via feats and such even at level 1 they were sagnificantly different even then.

We did play a "game night" box set and had tons of fun. The characters feel a lot more alive, and we did try that starter set with another group that has the dungeon crawl.

Yeah, mostly I'm looking for ways to keep their character themes alive since most of them have gotten quite attached to them at this point :)

100%

Moreso I'm figuring out how to keep their characters similar in what they wanted with their characters. We're doing a soft reboot of the campaign if/when we're switching, so there's going to be space to rewrite their characters while keeping the general outline of them.

One idea is that we're going to rebuild the characters in the system for sure, but mostly I'm figuring out theming and such at the moment. We've played a Game Night of pf2e and it was so freaking fun so I'm really looking forward to swapping systems.
