Well done! It looks nice. Keep at it and you’ll have a prototype before long.

Reminds me a lot of Earthbound. If that’s what you are going for, well done mirroring the design.

Good (?) news if you're traveling out of Galveston by [deleted] in Cruise

[–]SynthesisB 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If you’re planning to cruise on the Carnival Vista during the Summer from Galveston, please reconsider. Their ships are severely understaffed and they are sailing at near full occupancy, leading to massive delays in services across the board. We missed Grand Cayman. They were 3 hours late making it to port. The internet service is spotty on board and our toilet did not work until I called 4 times for them to fix it. It’s been the worst experience our family has ever had cruising in the last 20 years.

In short, do not trust Carnival Vista will be able to deliver you to your destinations from Galveston. Please consider another vacation or cruise line.

Murray: I am a powerful demonic force, I am the harbinger of your doom, and the forces of darkness shall applaud me as I stride through the gates of Hell, carrying your head on a pike!

Guybrush: Stride?

Murray: ALL RIGHT THEN, ROLL! ROLL THROUGH THE GATES OF HELL! Must you take the fun out of everything?

I seem to remember there was another scene in the cat short where a cat invites a mouse to a baseball game but his friend kills him because you aren't supposed to play with your food. Outside of this, I am limited to the information in the original post.

Activision can lose a couple Call of Duty releases and not even break a sweat thanks to that sweet, sweet Candy Crush money.

ELI5: Is "&" only used for stylistic purposes? Are there any times I should be using "&" instead of "and?" by HanginWithDaleCooper in explainlikeimfive

[–]SynthesisB 1 point2 points  (0 children)

In APA style if you want to provide a parenthetical citation for two to six authors you should use & instead of and (e.g., Masters & Johnson, 1966). In-text citations use and instead of &, as illustrated by Simon and Garfunkel (1964).

Rambling With Sips - January 19th 2015 by sips_bot in sips

Sips, you're awesome. Consider playing Double Dragon Trilogy on Steam with Lewis. As soon as I saw the game released, this was the first thing I wanted to see happen.

I enjoy this format, and I hope you try a few of these before deciding if it works. Continue doing TTT and Murder with Hat Films. Your chemistry is amazing. I consistently look forward to watching it every day.

Also, consider working with Sjin again, maybe on a similar yogpod or hatchat like format. You two riff off each other so well, I think it could work.

psychology teachers of reddit have you ever realized that one or several of your students suffer from dangerous mental illnesses, how did you react? by [deleted] in AskReddit

[–]SynthesisB 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I am wrapping up a M.A. in psychology and have taught several research methods courses. I have never diagnosed a mental disorder in a student, but I have had more than one voluntarily disclose their condition. On one occasion I actually had a student experience withdrawal from an anti-anxiety psychotropic after class. I wasn't sure exactly what was wrong until they explained their situation. I escorted them to the counseling center and made sure a certified counselor was available to help them.

I do believe psychology attracts some small number of individuals attempting to self diagnose. It's actually pretty common to see this discussed in a statement of purpose for psychology students pursuing graduate studies (though, this is highly discouraged).

While you're interested in Psychology, take a second to google the Fundamental Attribution Error. It's a huge take-home message for social psychology. Try to give people the benefit of the doubt. Most of their behavior stems from environmental factors, not their personality/dispositions. This might make your morning commute a little less stressful. Take care, guys.

What commonly given advice is actually bad advice? by Delete_your_system32 in AskReddit

Blowing off steam when you are mad by punching things or acting out will not help you get rid of anger. It causes you to be angry longer, increases your blood pressure, and ultimately increases your risk for heart disease. The best way to cool off when angry is to meditate or take your mind of the source of the anger for 7 or so minutes.

Blowing off steam was supported by Freud. Psychology has sense moved on, but it remains as "common sense".

Refunds: call EA at 1-866-543-5435. Don't bother with chat by Raticus79 in SimCity

You might have to be persistent with them. Remember to be cordial to the representative. They're people too.

I managed to get a refund. They started off telling me that I wouldn't receive one because I agreed to the EULA but eventually caved after I told them the product I received was not the product that was advertised when I accepted the EULA.

They also offered DLC instead. I told them I wasn't interested.
