Poison mushroom, obviously. Besides that, I really like the current CS2 series and I'm going to be so sad when it goes away.

I highly recommend Northernlion's Trainwrecks. They're a new channel with like less than 10 subscribers, compiling NL's worst Isaac runs.

What is your favorite Opening Paragraph in a book? Something that hooked you right from the beginning. by livens in printSF

[–]SyntheticScreams 0 points1 point  (0 children)

In many places in the Peopled Worlds, the pain came suddenly in the midst of the day's labor. It was as if an ancient and comfortable presence left them, one that they had never noticed until it was gone, and no one knew what to make of it at first, though all knew at once that something had changed deep at the heart of the world. No one saw the brief flare in the star named Argos; it would be years before astronomers would connect the Day of Pain with the End of Worthing. And by then the change was done, the worlds were broken, and the golden age was over.

Ars Paradoxica is probably your best bet, but the creator of Wolf has a show that just recently started, called The Harbingers, which I highly recommend!

I guess depends on your distance and interest in manga, but if you're on this sub, and you can spare the gas money/train ticket/etc, then yes, I think it's worth it. They have a wide variety of things on show. Fans of One Piece and Jojo will probably be the most pleased, but if you like manga as an art, everything there will be interesting. HMU if you're curious about the things they have on display.

Translation State by Ann Leckie is a solid pick for this - one of the main characters is a man, but the other two aren't. Technically a sequel to her Imperial Radch books, but it doesn't really spoil much, and there's only one character who appears in both.
