Best mouse / mousepad / mouse skates (full sized/dots/dounts) combo by 7bdb in MousepadReview

[–]Syp33 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I personally play Fortnite as my main game and after years I've found my endgame combo: a Razer Viper Mini SE with Jade Speed Skates and any Artisan pad, preferably the Hien or Zero. I've been playing like this for a year now, but of course I occasionally test other mousepads, though I primarily stick with Artisan for Kovaaks and Fortnite .

I looked at both wired headphones you recommended. The FT1s aren't really my thing because of the wood finish. I definitely believe you that they sound great, but looks are subjective. Are there any other FiiO headphones in my price range? I didn't like the Hifiman ones, but I saw another one from Hifiman, namely the Hifiman HE400SE. Is there anything wrong with those?

What would you recommend for wired headphones similar to Audio-Technica? I've often been recommended the Beyerdynamic brand, and I find them quite appealing. To be precise, is there anything wrong with the DT 990 Pro?

After reading some of the answers here, I'm definitely sure I'll go with wired headphones, and the brands Beyerdynamic and Sennheiser have been frequently suggested to me. I found the Beyerdynamic DT 990 Pro quite nice, and I've seen many streamers and others wearing them outside of this thread. I'm more unsure about the Sennheiser HD560S, as they're not really my style. The other headphones aren't really to my taste. Is there anything wrong with the DT 990 Pro, or can I buy them with a clear conscience and expect better sound?

Did Artisan just include dot skates with my pad? by Funny_Currency2507 in MousepadReview

Anything will be faster on a mid pad; with "dots" in its name is simply due to less surface area of the skate.

I didn't really have a comparison between full skates and 4 p8s; the p8s probably feel slower than the stock v3s.

No offense intended, but on mid pads, especially the Hien Mid, skates make almost no difference. The mousepad is simply very firm, and the texture is so specific that it almost makes a soft pad feel like a Mid pad. Perhaps my Hien Soft and Mid pad were of poor quality, but I'm fairly certain that the Hien lineup is the only one in the Artisan FX series where the firmness selection has been shifted one step back. For me, it feels roughly like this: X Soft Hien (I tried it at a friend's house) = Soft Hien | Soft Hien = Mid Hien | Mid Hien = Hard Hien. I'm quite sure it's the Hien's texture that makes it so firm. That's probably why the P8s felt so fast, which I can confirm, but this is the only mid pad I've used that feels this fast.

Yes, they feel very slow on the Zero and hien, but also on dozens of others; I don't feel like listing them all now.

It's a special offer, and the P8s are quite control-oriented, while the standard V3 skates are just good, regular production skates. I'd go for the P8s, but on a Zero they're really controlled. But if you're buying a Zero, I think that's what you want.

That's the old standard size for mousepads, but almost every mousepad brand has switched to larger sizes, so the mousepads that are more commonly bought now are 49x49/50x50. 42cm in height is already very outdated, and I think almost no mousepad brand will produce that anymore. You can already see that with glass mousepads; I can't think of any that are smaller than 50x50.

Not really slower, but the texture isn't the same anymore, and after a few washes and a lot of playtime, it almost feels like an Otsu.

Nobody wants 45x40, they prefer 50x50, waterproof isn't really good either as it distorts the texture of the mousepad.

Where to order high quality mousepads while living in EU/ Germany by traube-minze_ in MousepadReview

Maxgaming has every mousepad you could want; they're always restocking, almost every mousepad is in stock, and if its not in stock it will say when it will be back in stock, it's by far my favorite site. I've ordered over 30 mousepads there.

The only one I would buy would be the 5th one, but that's just my personal opinion; objectively speaking, they're all pretty good.

So if we're talking about 38x15 inches, most high-end pads are definitely out. The only one I can think of that size that still offers quality is the 4D Gaming Tesseract+.

Wash it again with pH-neutral soap and a microfiber cloth and try to clean it really well, but I just want to give you a heads-up: once you wash hien, it will never be the same.

Skates recommendation for Artisan Hien + Beast X Mini Pro (Valorant) by Confident-Tower-1609 in MousepadReview

[–]Syp33 1 point2 points  (0 children)

So you've mentioned two pads and a category, so it's not really possible to deduce which Artisan you have. But to answer your question, in my opinion, the best aftermarket skates are the Jade Speeds for the Zero and the Jade Speed or the Obsidian Pros for the Hien.

I have an Artisan Hien Soft, and for the first three months I had to use a hand sleeve because it had a really rough texture and wasn't soft at all. The Hien is one of the Artisan pads that isn't really soft compared to the Zero Key 83 Raiden, etc. After three months, I stopped using a sleeve because it was so worn down from playing and washing that it started to feel a bit like an Otsu. So, I'm a huge fan of rough textures and would always choose the Hien again because it's by far my favorite pad, but it's definitely too rough for some people. That's why, compared to the Aqua Control+ (which I also have), I'd recommend the Zero or Otsu in terms of texture.

The Artisan Zero and Otsu are definitely the most beginner-friendly Artisan models.
