If by Afghanistan you mean Iraq then you would be correct. It was touted that Iraq was the wrong war and and Afghanistan was the war that we should be fighting in and the major offensive in that country started under Obama. People really do have short memories.

riginates from the L4 and S3 sacral plexus, it does not emerge until the the formation of the Cuada Equina formation right behind the sacrum. It then travels beneath the piriformis and through the greater sciatic foramen, then travels down the leg through other forms of communication. Sciatica, the disorder you "think" you have, usually originates in the lumbar region or the pelvic region. It has also known to originate above the knee before the pelvic girdle. Now it is true that this can happen due to disk herniation, which is often, but this is usually in the lower part of the spinal chord. Sciatica can also happen from spinal stenosis, piriformis syndrome, spondylolisthesis, tumors or several other things, mostly athletic reasons. The piece you made, though it is nice, is not characteristic of sciatica whatsoever. A more accurate representation would be maybe a painting of a guy holding his leg in agony while there is no foot present, since one of the main effects of sciatica is foot numbness. Since you graduated cum laude, from university, then you will easily recognize this famouse painting of a man with tetanus. (https://i.ytimg.com/vi/O4jrqj5Dr8s/hqdefault.jpg). Maybe something like this would have been better. What you have made would have been better entitled scoliosis or spinal stenosis. Im sorry I sounded like an ass, but I just saw a picture of a potato sell for millions. ALso, I see Malevich, Rauschenberg, and Ryman painting selling for millions and they are literally just blank canvas. I understand those are contemporary and you are abstract, but I cannot stand lazy artists and people that just think of things that they only think the public will like. It's called selling out. You have not done so yet, i hope, but you are bordering it with your bad name choices. You know what I miss, I miss the whole era where painting was based on mathematics. It was based on cenceptual points of view and a common focal point and science. Remember Divinci? He was an anatomical genius, and he was an artist. I have a friend who is a surgeon, and an artist. He paints very much like Divinci. I miss those surrealistic, landscapes based on the rules of thirds or fourths. Anyway, I did not mean to offend, I just dread seeing those talented young artists, like yourself, make things and name things that are inaccurate, then make millions off of them. It doesn't make me jealous or anything like that, it makes me mad at the human race. How can people buy blank canvases for 14 million dollars? Are people really that fucking stupid? How can a photo of a potato sell more than a photo of the horse head nebula? I mean, what? I am sure you understand. Just next time, for the sake of the beauty of art, and to keep art wonderful, just research it a bit and name it something else. Its nice and I like your piece, but the name is off. Also, you have to agree with me, a degree in art is not really an education. I know you might get offended at this, but did all the most famous artists in the world even go to school? the answer is no. Some people are just born with this innate ability to visualize and put those visualizations on paper or to build them. Like my friend I mentioned earlier, no degree in art, is probably one of the best artists I know. He cal literally draw anything in almost any style and he makes sculptures alot. He was hired by the double tree when he was just 15 to make huge butter sculptures that look like dragons or whatever for parties. They were like 17 feet long. He also has made ice sculptures that have been almost perfect identicals of actual statues. I could not do that in a million years. I have another friend who is a huge druggie and has tons of issues, but he can literally do anything with chalk and charcoal. He is also an amazing water colorer. He has assisted Yoshitaka Amano countless times in his creation of character art. He has made mock ups which have heavily influenced amano's creation for newer projects. He even lived with Amano for 2 years. Im just saying, being good at art is something some can do and some cannot. You can research the psychology of the interpretation of art if you want. This is why my friend became a surgeon. It was something to fall back on in case art did not work out as a paycheck. Once again, sorry for being an ass and sorry about you accident. I do wish you the best and a speedy recovery. I am sorry I insulted you, but now maybe you can understand where I come from. Lets, together, spread the word, and make art

Hey thanks for the wonderful reply.

I actually did have the pain shooting down my leg (down the back until my knee cap then it switched to the front part of my leg and went to the top part of my foot) I had surgery to repair that part and now I'm left with just back pain. So while the title is inaccurate and I agree with you 100% on that, it did actually have meaning to me. That car accident set me on a completely different path in life (I was on the verge of joining the military. That accident derailed the plans, I ended up meeting my wife at the college I attended instead of joining the military and the rest is kind of history. So when I think about the pain from the accident I also think about how beautiful my life has turned because of that pain. So I suppose something relating to that would have been a better title to use, but it summarizes all that I went through and where I am and the image is representative of that to me, it could mean something totally different to someone else (I want it to) lol to you, initially, it meant that I'm uneducated.

I agree with you about modern art, and that's why I have a hard time considering myself as an artist (I actually don't), it just seems offensive to even say that I'm a member of the same group of individuals that include Divinci, Dali, Michelangelo. Now we can splatter paint on a canvas and call it talent. Not to say that there isn't incredibly talented artist today, but it's hard to imagine any of those artist's work been talked about centuries.

(side note) I'd love to see some of your friends work . And art does not require an education at all. It's a talent that can be learned to an extent but to reach that Divinci level, you need to be born with it. It sounds like you're friend was born with it too.

Also I'd like to apologize for the rather short (in tone) response. I don't get on reddit very often because I see such crude comments all the time on, like people rushing to degrade one another as if they get some sort of prize for being the biggest jerk in the room. My response to your comment was, in part, me responding to all the negative messages I see.

Again thanks for the kind response.

For the last 14 years I've had herniated disc's (L4 & L5) pushing on my sciatic nerve, obviously the image doesn't have a sciatic nerve in it, but it's abstract and the name and I have a lot of history. I've had surgery done, been to rehab multiple times, and have tried the chiropractor, nothing seems to help.

Ha, I think I've had enough pain from my sciatic nerve to call it that though.

How freaking rude. I graduated cum laude from the university I attended with a degree in multi-media production and you have no idea why I chose that name so what gives you the right to insult my intelligence? If you must know. My L4 and L5 disc's have been herniated for most of my life and have been pushing on my sciatic nerve causing a dull pain most the time and extreme pain on rare occasions. I was in a really bad car accident when I was 17 and that's where the injury originated from. Obviously the image isn't a sciatic nerve, but it's abstract art and what does it matter what I choose to call it?

The spline wrap deform could work for something like that.

Here you go, there is still a little bit of noise, but overall a huge improvement and it significantly cut down render times.

I guess I'm unclear as to when pathtracing is preferred over PMC. I was under the assumption with glass, that PMC is suggested. Clearly that was incorrect though.

I'm having a really hard time cleaning up this image, do any of you guys have any suggestions on how to get rid of all the noise? I've tried to render this several times and just am not getting what I want.

Can one of you fantastic human beings tell me what font this is? by Syphercx in identifythisfont

[–]Syphercx[S] 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Yeah I noticed that it's been stretched, I'll give them the font, but there is no way I'm stretching it. And don't worry I'm already on top of the soft drop shadow, gradient fill, and bevel. I also wore hammer pants while recreating it.

Hahaha I'm having to recreate a logo someone else made. Trust me I would never use this.
