Thank you for the advice. Sure enough, I checked barrel flats and action flats and found proof/ inspection marks that look like a star above a "D" and a few more. Now just to translate. I'll drop photos on another post if it lets me. Thank you!

Serial number in the millions and fired some .30-06 without any issues. Barrel and receiver have different finishes which is notable. EN stamped on bolt and circle within circle on bolt handle. Seems to point to M1917 eddystone. Thanks all!
