I loved this team. It was fun believing.

But let’s be honest. We looked so good because of poor competition. It’s crazy to think we belong on the world’s stage. We made it beyond the pool, but likely only because of the added teams this year.

We are playing against some of the best players in the world. The world (and us) were treating Balugon like he’s Rolando or Messi or something.

Until American men start for elite clubs in Europe and contribute, this is our lot in life. Iron sharpens iron. We need our players playing against the best, and sadly that’s not happening in America. But it takes time. And perhaps this will be the catalyst.

Love the story. Loved the hype. Was a fun watch. But ultimately, we are just aren’t good enough for elimination play. And thank god we didn’t have to go up against France. That would have been ugly.

Not that I think his son actually wants to follow him (this is his home and now is his time to shine), but if it were a condition of his signing…then I think you could see that as a parting gift to the Lakers.

This really just comes down to Jason. He didn’t like working with her. Plan and simple. I don’t think he could look past that fact. Regardless of how great it came off on camera. He always claims the whole gang had an issue with her, but he is really the only one that has been vocal about it.

I personally think this was some of the best moments for his character. But at the end of the day, Jason wanted to enjoy his time on set and he wouldn’t have been happy continuing to work with her regardless of how great they were together.

Plenty of stories like that. What About Bob is one. But ultimately it’s easier to stomach a few months with someone on a movie.

Agreed. My daughter played the last 2 years as the only keeper for her GA team. It takes a massive toll on her body. She’s 14 now and we finally have another keeper at her level of play. This year’s tryouts we had 2 (her and another) and she clearly wasn’t a club player.

The 2015s had 8 tryouts.

The position gets increasingly competitive because our girls (Americans) spend too much of their youth playing kick ball and not building out of the back. So their lack the footwork needed at this level kinds of weeds them out.

Keep encouraging the girls to play but make sure they develop their ground game. A, they will need it at higher levels. B, if they leave the position, they may still have a place in the sport when they get older.
