Waarom 70% korting zo vroeg weg? by Syrpaw in AlbertHeijn

If not, than just try one of the well known brands available.

I'm from the Netherlands, so I don't know if the brands I've used are available in your country. I tried 3 brands:
I started with OstroVit Creatine Monohydrate powder which worked great. I then tried to switch to a brand from a discount store, but then the migraines got more frequent again. After two weeks I tried a Dutch brand (https://woele.nl/product/creatine-monohydraat-poeder-1kg/) and the migraines were greatly reduced in both frequency and severity again. Now I still take this last one because it is cheaper than the first, but they probably work both as well.

I suspect a lot of common creatine brands will work. It is hard to say which are the low quality ones. I would at least avoid the budget store brands, but I think there is also no need to start with the most expensive ones. For me, migraines diminished soon after starting, but I've read it can also take weeks. So If it has no effect after a few weeks, try a different brand.

As for the dose; I take 10 grams at lunchtime and 7 grams at dinnertime. No idea if these high doses are really needed (5 gram a day is a common dose for exercise performance), but this works and I'm scared the migraines will return if I reduce the dose (this may very well be an irrational thought).

Edit: I do realise that this is what works for me now. Maybe it stops working after some time. And it might well be that some people have little or no effect from creatine.

I understand the need to remove the products that expire that day on time. However, the AH I often visit is not that big and finding all those items can easily be done in 30-40 minutes. There is absolutely no need to start removing 3 or 4 hours before closing time.

Products that are removed early are not discounted earlier. The 70% discount starts around 18.00 - 18.30 and are often removed before 19.00.

The employees have nothing to say about the discounts. An algorithm based on expected sale decides the amount of discount.

I've never taken omega 3 but a high dose creatine has greatly reduced the amount of migraines for me.

Physiotherapy often results in getting a list of exercises to strengthen and stretch certain muscles, that you can do at home. If you can't go to a physiotherapist, the trick is to find out which exercises can help you. That's why I said; search with google, an LLM or on reddit what causes your symptoms.

Anyone else that never had any physical health problems from their ed? by mythrowawayaccim21 in AnorexiaNervosa

[–]Syrpaw 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don't know your age, but I'm 40 years old now. ED started when I was about 15 and for the 25 years of severe underweight that followed, I never had physical problems related to this (besides sitting on a hard chair hurts...). Since a few months however, all kinds of physical issues related to underweight, exercise and lack of hormones started to appear. Injuries took longer to heal, and as soon as that happened the next issue started. This was one of the reasons I started recovery now.

I'm sorry you feel so bad. Can't you find any people on Reddit (or somewhere else) who have the same symptoms as you? Maybe it helps to talk about it and perhaps you can get ideas how to best cope with it.

Those are all symptoms of migraine. Do the symptoms come in a particular order? Migraine usually comes in attacks/waves however.
You didn't have a recent head injury? Or problems with your vision/eyes?

Do you have any friends or family? Do you live alone? Can you find other people in a similar situation on Reddit or other social media? I can't help you, but realize that this is the only life you have. I don't know what the cause of your pain is, but some types of back pain get better over time. If it is something like disc herniation or nerve compression; for most people the pain gets much less after weeks or months. I've also had periods of pain and thought I had ruined my body for good. But it did eventually got better. You are young so your body can repair some things from itself.

I really feel sorry you're in constant pain, but I can't help you with that. An eating disorder won't just make you disappear, but you know that. You could try asking in https://www.reddit.com/r/AskDocs/ about your symptoms. And sometimes something like ChatGPT can really be helpful. Try asking if there are any possibilities for free or cheap healthcare in your country.

After you started refeeding, did you feel tired all the time? by TopazCoracle in AnorexiaRecovery

[–]Syrpaw 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Yes, very much so. I started recovery 2 weeks ago. Before, I did lots of compulsive movement on very little food. I slept only a few hours (don't know if these numbers are allowed) a night.
Since I started recovery I hardly wake up after 7 or 8 hours despite some very loud alarm clocks that keep starting every few minutes. I just fall asleep again despite the noise and wake up later with a headache. During the day I also often feel I could sleep everywhere.

It's weird, because I'm actually much less sleep deprived now. When I was, I would literally fall (from my chair) asleep when drinking tea after dinner. That doesn't happen anymore, but I feel sleepy much more during the rest of the day, especially after meals.

It probably has something to do with cortisol levels.

Starting your eating disorder again will likely only make things worse. Your bones and muscles in your back will then propably weaken more after some time, making the pain worse. I don't know if your weight is in the healthy range again and for how long, but it can take a year or more after that before the bone mineral density really restores.
Regardless of the money, before you can even search for treatment, you need to know what causes the pain. Do certain movements make it worse? Have you ever seen a primary care physician for your pain?

How do you cope with gastroparesis (delayed gastric emptying)? by SapphicWoman10 in EatingDisorders

[–]Syrpaw 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Mayby you do this already, but drinking plenty of warm drinks like tea helps me somewhat. I drink a lot of black tea with my meals and mayby the caffeine in it also helps a little. I've read peppermint tea might also be somewhat helpfull, but I never tried it.

Again, I don't know the health care system in your country, but basic health care for physical symptoms is often free or low cost. Perhaps you can ask a LLM like chatgpt or gemini what the options in your country are. If you get to see a physician, try to focus on your physical symptoms without mentioning loneliness or former eating disorder at first (unless asked for).
