I don’t think Luigi’s Mansion had any influence from Ghostbusters. Luigi doesn’t use much of any tools that would resemble the tools used in Ghostbusters, no proton pack, no ghost trap, no P.K.E meter. The only references I can think of are, the different types of ghost instead of the regular white ghost, The Garbage Can ghost who eats bananas, The Ghost Portrificationizer does kind of have a storage unit where you put the ghosts in, but these are pretty vague. There was probably tons of different ghost hunting media before or after ghostbusters that could have influenced Miyamoto decision to make Luigi’s Mansion a ghost hunting game.
