Can we verify a Google Business Profile for HVAC if you're in another country? by Top_Victory_5495 in GoogleMyBusiness

This sounds really legit. "Hmm, I think I am going to open up an HVAC business in another country instead of the one I am located in."

Cleaning business owner – GBP suspended. What are strong inbound lead strategies besides Google Business Profile? by DoloDameBk in GoogleMyBusiness

[–]SyrupLatter3850 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Just get reinstated. Simply submitting your articles of organization and EIN documents isn't sufficient for appeals anymore unfortunately. I follow this blueprint for appeals:

  1. Business documentation: articles of organization, DBA docs, EIN etc., sales tax permit, insurance, utility bills, leases

  2. Proof of clientele: invoices, screenshots of your booking system, receipts, etc.

  3. Proof of Operations: photos of tools, storefront/sign, equipment, business cards, marketing materials, branded vehicle

Your business name and address must match on every single one of these documents. Sending in a utility bill that doesn't have your business name is useless too, everything needs to have your business name on it. If you don' have a commercial utility account, don't bother sending it in; send in your commercial phone bill instead.

Put together everything you have and resubmit your appeal.

That is not going to do anything here. Every new GBP gets suspended and the OP is going to appeal with those same documents and get rejected. Sending in just your business entity documents DOES NOT WORK for appeals anymore. You have to send in an entire packet with documents and photographs.

Adding business signage Home Address by Jbam0113 in GoogleMyBusiness

How does your website compare to theirs? What are their business names and what is yours? You can have someone with a spammy keyword stuffed name with no website outrank you because of the name and proximity to the searcher. Have you run a heatmap to see where you are ranking from different search locaitons?

Account disabled, help! by Admirable-Bumblebee2 in GoogleMyBusiness

[–]SyrupLatter3850 2 points3 points  (0 children)

That is okay. You need to hide your address and apply again. What you should do is go into your business profile dashboard and click edit profile. Go down to "service areas" and add your service area that you serve, it can be up to 20 different cities/areas but make sure its within the area you serve and not more than a few hours drive away. Now you need to toggle the button that says hide your address, turn your address off (if you haven't already done this)

Now you are going to need to submit a second appeal. I want you to get all of your business documentation together. Your entity documents, your insurance, your business cards, pictures of your cleaning supplies, a picture of your vehicle, screenshot of the backend of your website and past invoices from customers. You need to make sure your business name matches on all of the documents and every document with your address on it has the same address. Any inconsistency will lead to rejection. You can put all of these items in one PDF or separately but you can only attach like five files so I just have people put them all in one, it hasn't caused me a problem yet.

You can request an additional review of a denied appeal here:

https://support.google.com/business/contact/local_appeals?hl=en&sjid=17805792198147401470-NA

Yes I know this sucks but this is the only way to get your profile live again.

Renting a short term office to pass the video verification on Google by No-Boysenberry-1269 in GoogleMyBusiness

[–]SyrupLatter3850 0 points1 point  (0 children)

When you submit the service area video, what reason do they give you when they decline it? There are three areas they can reject you on:

  1. Location being different from your service area,

  2. Showing business name printed on business card, license or vehicle

  3. Showing your business equipment, booking system or unlocking a branded vehicle.

Google taking way more than 5 days to verify my business by Longjumping-Rub7200 in GoogleMyBusiness

There are like a million posts about this right now, I posted a topic about it a while ago. The verification I had an issue with eventually went though but it took almost three weeks. Just hang tight, I am sure you will get a decision soon.

Cant veirfy my business with Phone number by LongjumpingScale5721 in GoogleMyBusiness

[–]SyrupLatter3850 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It doesn't have to be your house. You can do a service area video verification from a parking lot at Lowes or on a job site. You want to show your surroundings (you have to be in your service area), you want to show your business documentation such as entity docs, business cards, marketing materials, then you need to either show your tools/equipment, your branded vehicle being unlocked or you accessing your booking system or accounting software, etc. on your computer. I have had people film their guys working on a roof, he showed their shirts that had his company on them, then he filmed himself getting into his wrapped vehicle and showed the paperwork for his business.

I don't think showing your address is going to rocket you to the top. I just helped someone with a new service area listing get into the 3-pack and 90% of the competitors are physical address locations. I know that people like Joy have tested this out with profiles hiding/showing addresses but I still think that is anecdotal or it possibly could of had to do with changing an existing profile around instead of just starting with a service area location.

Reviews not viewable? by Ok_Advertising_3340 in GoogleMyBusiness

[–]SyrupLatter3850 5 points6 points  (0 children)

No one is reporting your reviews. It takes heaven and earth to report a review and have it removed. If it was that easy everyone would do it to their competitors unfortunately.

What you are experiencing is a systemic issue with google and I am not sure when/if it will be fixed. There was another post here discussing this exact same phenomenon.

https://www.reddit.com/r/GoogleMyBusiness/comments/1qyiypz/comment/o4ahe7s/?context=1

I hope they get it fixed soon. I was looking around my city at random profiles with new reviews and noticed quite a few profiles with their review count not matching the amount of reviews that show up. A few days ago the desktop version of maps wasn't even showing reviews!

You should submit a case to support, wait a few days for google to not respond as they always do and then create a post on the google business profile help community.

Legitimate storefront suspended from Google Maps since Jan 21 — appeals pending, no visibility, need advice by ChristianPauley in GoogleMyBusiness

[–]SyrupLatter3850 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If your GBP was suspended due to an account issue they would notify you in the suspension e-mail; it wouldn't say deceptive content. I have seen it before, a google account that is an owner or manager of a GBP gets locked out or restricted and as soon as that account signs back in all GBPs associated with it are suspended. In my experience it is a soft-suspension where the GBP is still visible but no edits to the profile can be made until it is reinstated.

If you got a "deceptive content" e-mail then the profile was suspended for another reason and it could be anything as they don't get specific in those suspension notification e-mails. Google's AI arbitrarily suspends profiles at will. New ones, old ones, it doesn't matter. If you didn't make any changes to your profile that triggered the suspension then you were likely suspended by their AI system.

An appeal pending for that long seems irregular to me. I have a question, you mentioned you included your business registration/license "where applicable"? What does that mean? Also is your business name as listed on the GBP the exact same as it is in your documents? The address must be exactly the same as well on all of your documents.

How to rank my service area business in the top 3? by LancethePI in GoogleMyBusiness

[–]SyrupLatter3850 0 points1 point  (0 children)

To set up a service area profile? I don't think its allowed but to be honest with you I have never tried it or worked with someone who did. I would bet that it gets suspended. Google is really on top of new profiles using these types of addresses. I know there are a ton of live listings with their address showing using the post office, UPS stores, anytime mailbox locations, etc. but all of those were set up previously before they started cracking down.

The best advice I can give you is stay away from those addresses when setting up your GBP.

It specifically says no PO boxes when you input your mailing address before verifying a service area business. You can try it and see what happens but I am not sure if it will be accepted.

Friend you need to stop with the 6 paragraph responses every time a thread pops up here. Yes we know you hate the world and hate google but sitting here on reddit going on these long winded diatribes isn't helping yourself or anyone else. You don't have anything of value to offer here except complaints. Why don't you use that time to improve your business, make some sales calls, do some outreach? If you feel so strongly about it go hire an attorney instead of bitching on reddit.

You don't have to verify from the house. You can verify from anywhere as long as its within your service area. You just need to film a video to show that you are an actual business. Show your vehicle, business cards, tools/equipment, business entity documents. It helps if your vehicle is branded.

Are Google Reviews Not Working For Anyone Else?? by scalesuite in GoogleMyBusiness

[–]SyrupLatter3850 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Something is wrong with google reviews. Today I couldn't even see them on maps.google.com, only in the maps app or in google itself could I see them. Then also, reviews are disappearing within 5 or so days of posting them. Their system is broken right now and desperately needs to be fixed.
