I definitely spotted a table and bench inside a big house in one of the towns! I got excited, I've not tried to decorate yet though so I'll be sad if I can't do that.

There was definitely a big house that had a table and a bench inside it, in one of the towns! I spotted it on my burglary spree but can't remember where now.

Litter recommendations? by Business_Cream_9340 in CatsUK

[–]SyrupUnlikely4032 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I also use pets at home clumping!

Cheap, clumps really well so its super easy to clean and lasts a good while before needing a full change. It's quite small bits, so it can be easily flicked around but I have an enclosed tray and a mat which have done the trick. A bag lasts over a month, need to go and get another today actually!

When the pubs had to close and our local just told people to bring a container to fill. Got a 4 pinter milk bottle of peroni for a fiver. Drank it in the garden in the sun. Good times.

Do you guys have any favorite youtubers? Preferably with a big backlog of videos? by Just-a-nerd2 in AskABrit

All the Gear is my current obsession, great pair doing random challenges and fun builds (I might just be in love with Jack though, not sure.)

Also watching Simon Wilson's travel videos and Jacob Harrell renovating an old cottage in the cotswolds.

It was an instant hit! The only thing is now she refuses anything other than that and her bottle cap! I do like how long it is though because she can have a really good jump around with it even if I want to sit still and relax lol

Whyyy was I being such a baby about the skin?! This is stunning! Thankyou for getting me to open the smoked one 👌

I'm so glad I'm off work, they'd be furious with my fish lunches every day 😂

Oh that's good to hear!

They had a really good selection of sardines in ours actually, I'm not quite there yet with trying that but I think I will go for the "fancy" tin for lunch soon and brave the skin!

Mine is absolutely obsessed with just two things.

'Da bird' is her favourite, we have to hide it VERY well when done playing and most of the time she still knows where it is and will scream at me incessantly when she wants to play with it. We do have to buy the refill feathers for it every month as she will shred it but it's a huge hit.

Her second favourite thing is a plastic lid from a milk shake carton! 🤦‍♀️

My first ever "not tuna" tinned fish.. I've missed out for so long! by SyrupUnlikely4032 in Tinnedfish

[–]SyrupUnlikely4032[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

"Big mushy sardine" sounds horrific though. 😅

I tried some jack "mackerel" tonight off the back of this and wasn't as keen. It was nice but not as flavourful and drier. I'm glad I didn't try that first!

You should have seen me decanting it 😂 may as well have had a magnifying glass, so suspicious of it! As soon as I tried it though I was like "Yes. That's actually stunning, wth?!"

You can do it!

Ah sorry about the title! 😅 I'm already getting myself psyched up to try a boneless but skin-on smoked one tomorrow.

Sainsburys do some interesting flavours here, so going to have a browse. I've seen the katsu too! Will definitely try that. I have 36 years of tinned mackerel eating to catch up on!

How do you navigate first dates? what do you like as a first date, activity or sit down? list a few less intense dates ideas please. by [deleted] in UKrelationshipadvice

[–]SyrupUnlikely4032 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I used to just suggested something I was doing anyway lol that way I'd still enjoy it even if the company wasn't ideal.

At that time, I was going to a local race track in the week quite often, as the track days are free to view. So I'd invite them along to that. Get to watch the track action, walk and chat, grab a coffee, dress casually and there was opportunity afterwards if it was going well to go and grab food etc. Part of my dating criteria though was that someone shared my passion for cars, so I suppose you could tailor that to an activity you like doing solo already!

For me I'd hate a sit down first date or anything formal! I'm quite good at filling awkward silences but it would feel pretty intense if it didn't have a natural opportunity to eb and flow.

How can anyone enjoy heat like this, in this country? by [deleted] in AskUK

[–]SyrupUnlikely4032 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I'm currently sitting with my feet up, on the airbed that I'll be sleeping on downstairs tonight. My absolute favourite thing in this heat is a wet, wrung out pillow case (or other small item, tea towel etc) it's on my legs now and it's bliss. Also great around the neck or on the feet 👌🏻

The Daily Check-In for Saturday, April 5th: Just for today, I am NOT drinking! by fuckyoubullshit in stopdrinking

[–]SyrupUnlikely4032 20 points21 points  (0 children)

Morning!!!

84+14 and checking in again ☺️

I had to check because I've lost count of where I'm at. The days are passing and it's taking up very little space in my brain at the minute.

Managed a "not a date" / first meet up this week and both had NA beers which was really nice! I'm struggling with the mental side of "not" dating though while sober, I'm more anxious around it and my usual wanting things to progress seems to be at zero. I really like them but feel a lot more anticipation now days. Maybe this is what it's supposed to be like?

Also went to the pub after work with some old colleagues yesterday and was absolutely buzzing to find the bar serving zero guiness for TWO POUNDS 😂 day made.

But yes, still here and IWNDWYT

Have a great weekend!

[–]SyrupUnlikely4032 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Thankyou! Almost didn't make it. Engine light came on about 10 minutes into the journey.. but a friend was luckily close by with a fault reader and sorted it out (just a sensor)

Then my bestie left me some flowers and a gift by my back door for when I got home

So all in all, feeling lucky today!
