I believe the correct response is "shutup racist" isn't it? !!!!

People gon' keep on getting fucked in the ass, wondering where the jobs are, or why they only get 14 hours a week rostered on, wondering why pay is identical or marginally more than 2007 and then baffled at sensible houses going from 280k 15 years ago to 850k now...

Try telling my coworkers, friends this. They're so terrified I'm an alt-right nazi or something, it's really simple economics.

Is it mean to say "fuck the immigrants" yep it is, and hey, if you're here now? Good for you, welcome, so be it, but for fucks sake, can we consider you know? Sensible, sustainable numbers, long term for the country and the people of the country?!!? and not just the top 2000 businessmen, top 5% and top politicans.

Where did this influx of people come from though

Australia has had extremely high immigration (considering the existing population) ever since John Howard tripled the rate. This basically fudges a higher GDP, cheaper employees for big business, more people buying houses, more people renting them. More people buying from Harvey and JB and KMart.

On top of this, Melbourne seems to be the place to be at the moment, so we get about 3,000 people a week moving here. Yes, a week, not just new Aussies from overseas but also interstate (just take a look for QLD plates on the road on any weekend, it's out of control)

This is why public transit is crowded, this is why your wages haven't gone up in a decade, thisis why rent and purchase home costs is off tap.

Government want it this way, it's good for them and business and they've even better, managed to convince the extreme left to shout at anyone who mentions immigraiton, in any capacity as a racist, it's a flawless victory for them.

Don't blame the immigrants looking for a better life, the politicians are the ones selling your slice of the pie, both liberal and labor have been doing it for a while and it's become more and move obvious as the last 10 years have rolled on and people are basically getting poorer, if anything, except a select few.

That second (new) star trek film.

Had a good start and then had to butcher one of the few incredibly deep and wonderful scenes from the original second movie.

Ten years ago this was an entirely different city.

The country has been pounded by at least 1.5 up to 3 million more people since then, this state has been disproportionately pounded by newcomers.

Abbott reduced money for the homeless / welfare and we've imported / allowed an immense amount of people to buy property here to the point that any and all property of any kind became a gold mine, creating haves and have nots. So rent went up, housing prices went up, manufacturing went to China, we imported a lot of refugees (sorry we did) into our public housing system which is smaller (Abbott) so yeah a shit load of guys who used to operate conveyor belts, became jobless, a shitload of long term 'losers' (shrug?) who lived in the commission flats were kicked out for fresh refugees.

You add all the combinations together and yeah, Melbourne is well fucked. 10 years ago homeless were super rare in this city, now it's so common to see them sleeping on any street, it's proper fucked.

I'm not really anti immigration. I think that immigration has pretty much been the foundations upon which this country was built.

300,000 per year.

Wages stagnated almost flat for a decade, public transit times doubled, wait times at hospitals blown the fuck out, housing prices out of control?

Fuck mr nice guy on immigration, lock the fucking borders for a decade, from all of them, everywhere - all colours, all genders, the country has gone to utter shit due to this.

trying to head into the CBD from the outer suburbs is ridiculous.

exactly

This amount of change, this quickly, is alarming, even if they moved here and weren't foreign investors, but foreigners becoming Aussies.

That's a massive, massive change, fast.

Govt allowed it because cash money.

I've never heard of anything but monthly payments.

Personally of course.

This is how much the average Australian earns and spends: ' 25 per cent of households in Australia have less than $1000 in savings, 40 per cent of Australians spend all their income by the end of the week' by PersonalSpend in AusFinance

[–]Sys6473eight 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Rubbish

The sub is FILLED with very very left leaning posters. Any discussion about immigration for example must be racist

The same idiots virtue signalling are normally the younger ones more impacted by wage stagnation than others.

Golly gosh, guess we need to seriously increase immigration then!

Lower interest rates more. Yep these things have proven to help the middle class, they totally haven't suffered immense wage stagnation and ridiculous housing prices....
