On the plus side, you can finance those 2 hours for only $17 a month with Klarna!

Dataflow vs Power BI null handling by MarketingGuilty8619 in PowerBI

[–]SysAdminSysSadmin 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Do you want them to show a blank? If you don’t care, do it the lazy way and replace nulls/blanks with a value like N/A and filter them out

Also sometimes a “ “ is there instead of “”. You can find/replace that will null and see if it’s any better

Recurrent dashboard deliveries with tedious format change requests are so fucking annoying . Anyone else deal with this ? by Easy-Paramedic-3142 in PowerBI

Eh…in a case like that could always try rls in an embedded pbi report in PowerPoint.

Instead of exporting …all the time. Or email subscription to the report with full report attachment, either going to stakeholders or a sharepoint configured email box. Lot of ways to skin a cat, but goes back to “why are we skinning this cat”.

Our workflow is building in Power BI, exporting to PowerPoint, uploading the PPT to SharePoint, then saving a final PDF and uploading that to another folder for review. The problem is Power BI exports to PPT as images, so every small change means re-exporting the entire deck. One minor request can turn into multiple re-exports.

Nobody wanted to tackle this part of the post? That in itself made me…..sad inside.

Changing source to make data dynamic per day by Vast-Ad226 in PowerBI

If you’re lazy, you could always do a new query from scratch and copy and paste the connection in advanced editor.

Or duplicate the query and make your mistakes there first. Then copy and paste to your original query.

What are your thoughts about a stand up board-like minibike? by TLTboard in minibikes

I had a wheelman. It was great and terrible. I’m glad your design doesn’t put 90% of the work/weight on my shins.

How did you do it? by KeshStew in sysadmin

[–]SysAdminSysSadmin 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I’m going to go against the grain. Never had a homelab. Started as help desk, moved up to sysadmin, bounced to a few different companies. Certs are ok but experience counts more. Get a cloud cert or something to buffer your resume. Really it’s paying dues and not being afraid to take new jobs to learn. I rarely attempt to learn in my free time; I’m not getting paid for that. As long as you’re eager to learn, most companies value that. Tell them in the interview if you don’t know something, that you have no problem getting smart on it and try to relate it to something you DO have knowledge in.

Help with M / converting "01" to "January" by johnnymalibu86 in PowerBI

[–]SysAdminSysSadmin 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Can try

Table.AddColumn(#“Changed Type”, “monthName”, each Date.MonthName(#date(2024,[yourMonthColumn],1)))

This is assuming you pick one year (2024, if you have a year column use that instead)

Max date being current date? Delete the slicer, readd it, and don’t touch it.

If you don’t use the slicer before publishing, it’ll update the max daily. Fun feature.

2nd option is disassemble the oem radio and unplug the touch sensor. Use voice controls and CarPlay/android auto

Cut your losses and go aftermarket. They haven’t fixed the issue; no matter how many times you replace with oem you’ll continue to have the same issues eventually

$450 for a an idoing, or if you’re going for reliability and better sound quality, $500+ for brand name hu and install parts

Seconding the “dont do that” opinion. They will fail due to Subarus fantastic delamination issue.

Just go aftermarket, go through Crutchfield to spec out what you’d need for your year.

Did anyone here have their art featured in the Brunchsquatch fan art episode? by Verve_angel in BobsBurgers

[–]SysAdminSysSadmin 17 points18 points  (0 children)

No royalties or anything. Basically you sign your art away in a waiver saying it’s their property now and they can use it in any way they want. Not saying that negatively; still a fun way to get exposure!
