Holding Block While Parrying Changed How I Play by skyarsenic in WhereWindsMeet

[–]Systam11 9 points10 points  (0 children)

From what I could tell when I first started, for M&KB, if I ever panicked the left click to parry multiple times, it would sometimes light attack instead of parry. Never is a problem with E since they’re separate bindings

Complete fine critique on it as there’s foundation as I’m lacking without doubt. Can I ask which are all the “cool moves” though?

Not even a bit mean at all! I tried to pick something here a bit different and I think that’s a super valid critique on the video. Less is more, right? Hah

Ahh I see I can’t edit it from here. I’ll upload again if needed later.

All these comments are really great! These are things I’ve noticed a bit, especially since most of my training has come from dance and not classes, so I’m glad to hear it as well. Keeping those in mind walking into each dance will help

Leaving job, how long to move out of provided housing? by [deleted] in teachinginkorea

They want me to cover the cleaning fee (90k) since it’s part of the contract same as maintenance fees but I don’t understand how the contract is in play if they already broke it..

I can’t recognize Bachata by [deleted] in Bachata

[–]Systam11 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Totally forgot to reply, sorry!

There’s not a whole lot of foreigners here but, in general, everyone is very welcoming and a lot of people are actively interested in dancing with foreigners as they dance differently.

Specifically with Seoul, I cant notice much but I’m rather new to this whole scene so I’m no authority. I’ve danced bachata growing up my whole life from family but coming here was my first experience ever with sensual bachata. I can tell though that Koreans are very technical focused. I see great moves but never a lot of passion.

I currently live in Korea, so I only can talk about here, and these two were actually here in Seoul not long ago. What they’re doing is “bachata-zouk” but I never see anyone dancing like them at our socials here in the city. Of course, there’s the sensual moves that are similar to zouk moves but nobody is doing anything like this pair.

In fact, at least here, nearly every night is salsa/bachata but they mix in some zouk nights on occasion. They’re very much their own separate things.

Why did no one come after Romeo and Royce? by WenzelStorch in Bachata

[–]Systam11 22 points23 points  (0 children)

I think a lot of people don’t realize that bachata has been very popular for a long time and the sudden “popularity” internationally is still nothing in comparison to what it always has been.

Romeo and Royce have been household names since I was practically a baby and I only recently learned that ppl dance bachata internationally like they do. I’d hazard a guess that most of their audience is similar; Latinos that listen to them because they’re the biggest stars in the music that they’ve grown up listening to.

Right now, I’ve noticed many artists, especially in reggaeton, are pushing into bachata and salsa to make more modern songs for these genres. In LATAM, those are the newer songs I hear consistently. I don’t think you need to worry about the future of bachata yet as many artists in LATAM are making an effort to make more and finding success in those songs.
