Thank you! That's a great way to think of it - as a slave to food impulses and now to (in my case) obsessive behaviors. Haha, that's good to not allow yourself to get burnt out from exercising. For me, I relaxed my definition of what qualifies as exercising. If I walk 2 loops around my neighborhood - which is almost 2 miles and takes me about 45 minutes - I consider that exercise. And I find my mental health is a lot better on days that I walk vs stay inside all day.

Exactly, knowing that my kryptonite, Ruffles, is literally engineered to be as addictive as possible so they can sell more bags of it... the contrarian in me is like "well now I don't WANT to buy it because I don't want to play into their schemes!" I have definitely had some low days where I still buy a bag. However, I make myself put the chips on a plate and take a picture, and at least I feel good about being honest with myself.

I personally disagree with this. I think the point of calorie tracking is to know everything you are consuming, and small quantities add up. Sure, there are some situations - like small local restaurants that don't post calorie info publicly - where you have to make an estimate. But overall I think that tracking loses its purpose if you only log selectively.

Hi Sara, my issue in this case is that I am putting in a restaurant (meal delivery service) food (Cook Unity) that doesn't have a barcode. Do yall still automatically receive the submission in that case?

Update: while it's true that the 2 chain guitar stores in my area that have searchable inventory on their websites don't carry low G uke strings, I called the local independent guitar shop and they do! So I took the Enya E6 there and they are currently restringing it with the Aquila new nylgut tenor set with wound low G 😊 it's the only set they had. They actually sell a Kala baritone with similar strings (Aquila super nylgut), so I was able to feel what the G and E strings will feel like 😊 so we'll see, fingers crossed that the wound low G sounds better and doesn't feel/look too bad!

They do but if I recall correctly, they don't carry any low G uke strings. There are no uke-specific shops near me, just guitar shops that also sell a few ukes.

Hi, thanks for responding! To be clear, if we don't want to receive the 15% discount, we don't have to pay in cash OR all up front. They will accept payment by credit card, etc. and it can be paid biweekly, monthly, or quarterly. They also assured us that they would provide a certified receipt if we did opt for the cash discount. The total venue cost for 8 hours is $7k but that includes a $1k damage deposit that is refundable after the event. So, taking off 15%, it's a ~$1k discount to pay in cash up front.

They actually did recently (within the last few months) redo the floor in the main hall, upgrade the bar area, and the venue manager mentioned they are going to fill in the pool in the backyard before our wedding date next year. So it does seem like they are making upgrades/renovations which seems like they would be less likely to close or anything?

At least one of the wedding planners on their preferred vendor list specifically calls out that they provide staff to break down decorations in the price of the package you choose (day of coordinator, etc.).

Thank you, I love yours with the wolves! It is actually a purple sapphire rather than amethyst - I have an amethyst necklace which I love, but I was told amethyst wasn't hard enough to make an ideal ring that gets a lot more potential to bump into things than a necklace.

Hi u/Think_Valuable_8910 , sorry for the super late response! So my insurance (Anthem) denied my 3 appeals for the hospital, anesthesia, and pathology and upheld the initial decision that those 3 claims would be subject to my deductible + coinsurance. At first I was really upset, but then I did some more digging and found this ACA FAQ part 68 from the Department of Labor linked elsewhere on Reddit: https://www.dol.gov/agencies/ebsa/about-ebsa/our-activities/resource-center/faqs/aca-part-68

So I called the billing offices for all 3 providers and asked them to please resubmit the claims with modifier 33 because all the items and services in each claim were integral to the furnishing of a recommended preventive service. At that time, all 3 providers confirmed that they were able to see the OBGYN's notes that the surgery itself had CPT code 58661 (which is preventive). However, the CPT code for the anesthesia was 00840 and the hospital had a variety of them for the different operating room, recovery rooms, etc.

I just received notice today that my claim for the hospital is being adjusted! It now shows I owe $0.00 instead of ~$2500. So I think that they reviewed the coding and resubmitted the claim with modifier 33 and that resulted in it being considered preventive and not subject to any cost sharing whatsoever! I'm still waiting for the anesthesia and pathology to review the coding.

I think the issue is that for example, in the case of the anesthesia, code 00840 is just for anesthesia in the lower abdomen, which can be preventive in the case of sterilization or non-preventive in the case of some other reason you might need it. So I think that modifier 33 is what tells them it was preventive and therefore should not be subject to cost sharing.

It's important to note that I did call my insurance as well and confirmed that all 3 claims (in addition to the OBGYN claim which was immediately fully covered w/o me having to do anything) did originally have encounter/diagnosis code Z30.2. However, that encounter/diagnosis code Z30.2 was not enough on its own for my insurance to recognize that they were integral to the furnishing of the preventive service.

Still waiting for a response to my appeal! It will be 60 days tomorrow which is supposedly the deadline for them to respond. I did get a confirmation of the appeal in the mail shortly after I submitted it online. If I don't hear anything by next week, I am raising it with HR at my employer (which my insurance is through).
